One of our biggest issues with all these trade scenarios is that we don't seem to have much trade currency in any of our players. Failing in 2010 & 12 drafts means we have don't have much in that young potential bracket that we can trade away.

Weller and A. Pearce are probably the only ones with any value and I wouldn't be keen to trade either. Barlow and Clarke may hold a bit of currency, other fringe players Suban, De boer, Mzungu even Apeness etc won't net us anything.

This means we have to trade out our best draft picks which again limits the amount of highly rated kids we get in restricting the currency we have in the future.

I'm not saying don't trade but I can't see all our potential trades going through next week with just a couple of late 1st round picks.

Did the shoulder surgery also effect his leg speed and turning circle? He looks completely lost and at best would be a slight upgrade on Taberner. At worst he plays for Peel every week.

He's not someone I'm after and personally he had a chance to come to Freo and it backfired. Unlucky for the kid but he'd be worth a 3rd rounder and a massively reduced pay, with no guarantee of playing.

If he was willing to accept all of that, then yes we can take a punt and hope he comes good.

If he is just wanting an opportunity and a slight reduction in pay to facilitate this, then he can get stuffed.

Exactly, probably worth a second or third on his own, but contract massively discounts his value as a trade. I think NM will need to pay some of that for him to get interest from anywhere!

Will make it easier imo. It gives them bigger non draft pick motivation, and for the recipient they will have Roos contributing to it.

It may seem silly given the Bennel deal already seems to be in the final stages. But still more confident of us getting McCarthy than I am Bennel.

I'm not convinced that a surgeon will be able to fix a healed and scar filled shoulder. Fusing bone only to break it off and fuse again might not be possible.

He needs to be able to mark or his value is zero in my opinion.

Why don't they open it up, scoop out all the scar tissue and replace it with paper mache?

Why are you more confident we'll land McCarthy over Bennell?

We upgrade Smith (essentially swapping him with Deluca) and add a speculative rookie (since we otherwise would only have 3 rookies). This assumes Pav goes around again and Mora gets a one-year senior contract.
