Just had a look at theirs, far out! They have had the softest draw for finalists the last 3 seasons now. I will enjoy watching them stuff it though, which they will, if the last 20 years has taught us anything.

Travel could be the thing that shafts us next year.

The amount of 6 day breaks is incredible. If we can't pull a win out of our ass in the rounds leading up to the bye, then I worry our confidence might wane a bit and performances will drop off.

Good start and back end of the season is essential, there is no reason why we can't have 6 or so wins in the opening couple rounds.

Travelling to Darwin and Tassie is kinda stupid. Why not NSW? They have actual teams there :') geez.

We're playing Collingwood at Etihad rather than the G next year, but we get Richmond at the G on a Friday night, which should be pretty big.

Clearly Collingwood is less of a draw card now that they are shit.

The more I look at the draw, the better it gets.

As mentioned the only downside is the inefficient use of the bye - but we have 4 of our last 5 in Perth and the onlny one away in that time is our shortest trip to Adelaide. Bloody good if we happen to sneak into finals.

It is also a fixture that should we be playing well will allow us to finish higher by virtue of the fact we play most of the best sides at home and the weaker ones away. We don't play any of last year's top 4 (ladder only) away from Perth.

Also for the second year in a row we play both the saints and bulldogs twice. Not something to complain about obviously but it seems odd to me that they don't mix it up a bit more

Think it's five years since we played the Swans here and the second straight year (maybe third) we haven't played GWS, we played GWS in a practive game though earlier this year if I remember correctly up at Blacktown.

I've got $90 return flights for the long weekend in November, leaving Friday night and coming back on the Monday public holiday. They do come up, you just need to be quick. Also it's only $10 each, each way to get the shuttle bus so that's $40 for public transport.

I'm not sure how old you are or what you usually do on the weekend but I can quite easily make a weekend in Sydney including flights, transport and accom a similarly priced weekend if I were to stay here in Melbourne with little effort. Fly out friday night so you're saving $100 - $200 on Friday night drinks after work. Usually don't play golf on a footy weekend away so that's another $100 saved.

Will often do one Melbourne weekend during the season with the family (brothers and their partners) all meeting up there, but it is a significant cost (your maths is a little funky, unless you aren't paying for accommodation (or an acceptable level of accommodation), you've not factored in cost of getting to the Sydney airport which is extortionate even on the cheapest modes of getting there, and you're not factoring in spending your beer money in Melbourne either, as well as eating out every meal x2 as my partner would want to go as well) to watch a game of footy when there is no valid reason we shouldn't be getting them in Sydney once a year.

quite happy with the draw. lack of melbourne games is a bit annoying plus the travel to darwin and hobart but the last few games after round 17 should be a good platform for finals if were challenging it.

The draw is a no excuse one for us. We should make finals with what we've got. Even the travel isn't incredibly bad, given everywhere is a pretty long haul.

One of the biggest bonuses is playing BOTH derbies after playing the previous week at home. We usually cop the opposite and that's a big leg up to focus on the game without having to worry about travel recovery. Make no mistake about that.

Wow this fixture is awesome for us, best ive seen us have in years, we will make the 8 for sure, seriously with this fixture if we don't make finals then I've lost faith in our squad completely and want a full rebuild.

Yeah - it's a lot of travel and that sucks, but it's not like were weren't going to be travelling anyway.

The way I see it, the downside of travelling extra to get to Hobart is balanced out by having to play North there, and not at Etihad where I'd chalk us up for a loss. Any time we can take away the home ground advantage is alright by me.

first glance, looks like another soft draw. not quite as soft as 2014 - we should be hanging our heads in shame for that making finals given that fixture.

Looking at the timing of the Melbourne games, despite there being only 4- I might be able to get across for 2 of them.

Waiting for a Suns away game to be around the school holidays - will definitely be getting on that!
