How would you guys feel if the club did the following?

Keep our first this year, nab a second for Lyons, give a 2017 first + CEY/Other fringe player brisbane want for Rocky (Honestly in their position I'd almost ask for 3-4 of ours; their standards are clearly crap and a block of players from a club higher up the ladder could help their younger blokes come along and realise what it actually takes to play AFL - If them, I would ask for CEY, Otten, Grigg and even a Mackay or Douglas. It won't help them long term but at some point you have stop being a joke, it kills your club in regards to fans and players wanting to leave)

1st on Scharenberg
2nd on Graham (looks like he might still be there going on what the 'experts' have been putting out)

Would be a huge refresher to the midfield stocks IMO; 1 confirmed A grader, and two genuine midfielders (none of this half back to midfield business).

Scharenberg from everything I've seen is a pure footballer. As an outsider looking in, it seems that sometimes these kind of players get overlooked for players who get over-hyped with an 'x-factor' or 'burst of speed' or something. The classic example I'm sure everyone's heard is Sloane. Doesn't stand out athletically, but he just does the right things. Scharenberg strikes me as a similar player.

Graham's knock appears to be his kicking, but if we can get him for 29 I'd be stoked; Larke medallist for a reason, huge body and could turn into something if we can clean up his disposal.

Willem Drew is another one I've been liking that will likely be present at our picks.

Rocky is obvious. Top 5 in Brownlow in 2014, racks them up and can kick goals going forward. Knocks on his disposal and lack of penetration; if you had Brisbane's forward line, I don't think you'd be seeing too many options either. Would reserve my opinion till I see him in a different environment.

Yes, only rocky helps us short term and given the melts I've seen recently some are fully aboard the 'we need to trade everything sell it all everyone's up for trade'
Not in my opinion.

Those down the road have shown what happens when you trade out your firsts for players.
First rounders who turn out as good as Lever can re-invigorate the whole team.

Anyone's thoughts on will Hayward? Thought he played a ripper. Also liked Fogarty from Glenelg. Bottom ager available next year I believe.

FT: Glenelg 6.20.56 Df North 8.7.55

Pink with about a 65m kick into the wind after the siren. The ball bounced past about 10 North players in the goalsquare and went through for a behind.
Bizarre defending. The first guy had an airy trying to punch the ball then all the other defenders were massed in the goalsquare and none on the point lines when they knew only a behind was needed to win.

Hayward will go in 2nd round IMO - big finish to year and very talented prospect

Could nearly be the first SA kid drafted IMO

I would jump at the chance to draft Hayward. I'd be willing to go first round on him.
Super athlete, tough as nails, can play forward or mid.

I tink he will be drafted much higher than many think.

Your basic idea is sound. However, I wouldn't touch either of the two draftees you have suggested.

I suspect Scharenberg is vanilla and hence why he isn't being talked up at the top end of the draft. Hayward over Jonty for me.
Graham is a man playing against children. Daniel Rich without the leg. Not keen in 2nd round.

Can we please just pick players who have a sound kicking technique and are naturally good users of the ball.
Let's not back ourselves in to get kids kicking skills up to scratch. If they can't kick it by the age of 17-18 then we aren't going to change that and I'm sick of our turnovers under pressure killing us when it counts.

KIcking skills AFC! A highly undervalued skill these days.

Teams for the 2 upcoming NAB AFL Allstars games have been named, fair chance most of these players will get drafted in the first few rounds of the Draft.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-09-19/fatherson-prospects-have-a-chance-to-shine-on-grand-final-eve

The under-17s clash will be a curtain raiser before the AFL premiership decider, and will be broadcast live onAFL.com.au from 10am.

Think both Jarrod Berry and Will Setterfield are both in serious doubt owing to injuries sustained in the Finals..
8 South Aussies named if Emergencies counted...

Have a strong feeling that GWS would try and trade up to grab Ainsworth as their keen on getting an elite goal kicking small

Becoming more and more keen on Hayward by the week, is having a massive finish to the year.

Reckon he goes late 2nd-mid 3rd at this stage, could (and I reckon will) rise

Would love to see Ridley and Begley come in for Setters and Berry

Graham has been a man playing against children for many years but surely he is now playing against men & so now its an equal playing field.

As for a wish list bar the obvious (midfielders) they really need to grab a good small defender, one that's actually played as a defender in his junior career rather than continually trying to convert failed junior midfielders would be a good starting point.

The other one would be to find a young athletic mobile modern prototype ruckman, one that can actually get more then 10cm off the ground would be new. Though sometimes I don't see the point of the club even recruiting ruckman as under the astute tutelage of Doc Clarke all ruckman are eventually converted into a version of Clarke the player himself - stationary crows guernsey wearing totem poles

Peter Ladhams.

Sweet or Ladhams would be great as they both have great tap work and skill. Both have also shown an ability forward. We can't afford to take punts on the likes of Olango because of his risk factor unless we know Sauce is going to play on for a couple of years as the number 1 ruck. Max Lynch is another option but is pretty similar to Sauce in their play Style already. Goddard isn't impactful enough around the ground.
