As I said before - I'd be happy to take Hayward with our first pick (he won't make our next pick). He has the tools to be elite.

He needs to improve his work rate as he coasts around a bit too much, but he has IT. Will be a star in AFL.
I'm a big fan , he's developed nicely

Can picture the switch to midfield - has class

Saw the game live

Best players - Bowes Taranto Mccluggage Ainsworth Scrimshaw . All will go very early

Then Powell -Pepper, Petrevski-Seton , Florent 29d ( ball use was poor) , Hayward (class), Poholke

McGrath was quietish but done enough

Key position players bare bare - Marshall disappointing

Don't mind Galluci in second round but prefer Hayward

Drew bit underwhelming but not given opportunities in midfield

Clarke and sharenberg similar . Good inside but poor kicking . 2nd rounders at best maybe 30 onwards
Bolton?

How did Cedric Cox look on tv?

Did some great things early but drifted in and out after

Jars - this game showed he's nothing special. He's not going to be caleb daniel . We don't need to obsess about getting him . Only if it's right

Wishful thinking but he looks to be a nice sized medium forward. Did play well in the All Stars game despite not having much of the footy. Not sure he's the best fit for Adelaide unless he the club thinks he can become utility like what they saw in Tom Doedee last year as a defender.
To put it another way I think he's done more than enough now to be drafted and make it as a half forward and he has some really desirable traits for a forward. Secondly I don't want to put a ceiling on a player who hasn't filled out. He's one that a club will draft and after a couple of very solid preseasons will have a greater idea of his ceiling. For now though he is drafted as a forward and could end up a steal in the 20-30 range.

Admittedly he was in the better team. Hinge was the other one that had a bit of it. The other SA lads toiled.
Hinge doesn't have the same class

Cox is solid but not spectacular - toiler . 3rd round onwards

The Fijian could be pretty exciting

Ps - there is no way I would draft English with a 1st rounder

He's going to take a lot of time and will end up a bit like josh Fraser - not physical but skilful

I'm a big Myles Poholke fan, was sneakily hoping we might have been a chance with our 3rd rounder but I think he now goes earlier?, another that has both Mid/Forward capabilities, elite overhead, strong body and by all reports a great kid. Agree re Shaz, his kicking was awful today, funnily enough I didn't think Taranto was overly impressive on the day just got on the end of others hard work mainly.

Some of tarantos handballs were special and he always kicks goals

He pops up everywhere , has a bit of an inconsistent kick and high ball drop

His tackling and overhead marking is elite

I was impressed with Poholke too

Apparently Shaz went at 49% KE efficiency in nationals - big pass from me

He was exciting wasn't he ?!! Sorry missed him . Was in best 8-12 players on the day

Heard some clubs have completely ruled him out due to temperament and being a loose canon
He was quite good getting his own ball and breaking away from congestion. We have ways of fixing temperament stuff now.

Bicks Is there a monster coming through in this year or next years draft?
As in size?

I really like SA youngster Callum Coleman Jones for next year 198cm 95Kegs and still growing, Athletic, agile, Ruck/Forward, good kick, for his size he's just about the complete package, can see him as absolutely dominating AFL KPF.

Size is one.

More a monster no club can overlook? As in Kreuzer and Nick Reiwoldt. Someone way ahead of even his group.

Next year's No.1 is most likely playing in the U17's All Stars game tomorrow morning at the Punt Road Oval at 10 AM...live streamed at afl.com.au

Jackson Edwards of particular interest, Coleman-Jones and Nathan Kreuger along with a swag of other SA boys also playing in that game.
Several I've seen over here this season I've really liked Sam Hayes, Jaidyn Stephenson and James Worpel....I think Jarrod Brander at this point in time is probably thought of as the No.1 prospect.... Jeffcrowe would probably have a fair idea..

Cedric was underwhelming big time, disappeared after quarter time, the team that drafts him will be drafting purely on potential not output, and surprisingly his kicking was off...big occasion maybe?

Good call on Worpel Bicks. Reckon he will be Top 5 next year.

Back in July I was hoping for Taranto but that ship has sailed with his form but still believe Witherden could be a slider in this years draft. The reports and write-ups from last year and early this year painted him as certain Top 10. Has a huge up side and he would be a great asset in a couple of years.

Florent was great other than his kicking . I think earlier 2nd round now ( had him 3rd round earlier but he's done alot lately )
I have heard from clubland that clubs are now considering him a first round prospect. So damaging with ball in hand.

Not good kicking today though ... Would have had at least 5 turnovers by foot

Great upside and 29d v the best kids is a great effort for a kid coming from a bit of a way back at start of season

not this year ......unless you consider Scharenberg?

On Scharenberg, i know he has his detractors .....probably from reading the Phantom Drafts.
His kicking is average, but that'll improve at AFL level .......but he is a smart inside mid that makes excellent decisions .....i'd be happy with him
