Does anyone have any details on the young guns game where jake Bradley was named. As was hish. Has it been played yet? If so, how did they go.

Quick check suggests it was played on the 18th, and here are some notes on it:

#7 Hisham Kerbatieh– Is he worth a rookie pick? Maybe. I can’t see Kerbatieh being more than just a small forward and even then he has plenty to work on. His goal sense is good but on multiple occassions going inside 50 he looked for his teammates in areas he probably could’ve kicked the goal. His kicking was iffy going inside 50 and he finished the game on ice with a lower leg/calf issue. Can be picked as a Category B rookie to Essendon.

He and Venables are the most intriguing for me, right now.

Where would you have him TW and why?

Harks, i've personally got Scrimshaw in the 9 to 15 bracket, which are hard to split. With Perryman, Venables, Logue, Setterfield, Marshall and Berry.

I've got 3 brackets.

1 to 3 - McCluggage, Brodie and Petrevski-Seton

4 to 8 - English, Bowes, Ainsworth, McGrath, Taranto

9 to 15 - The above group.

I suspect every List Manager's board will have different orders and different feels on players. Draft will be fascinating to follow in ensuing years as usual.

How's your order shaping up?

I was at the game as i am a good family friendly of hish and a massive carlton Fan! Bradley was quite didn't really notice him. i was hoping he offered enough but is still young and maybe needs alittle bit more developing. hish was good and did some real special things. report above is from a new up and coming reporter in his twenties so i wouldn't look into that at all see below report from a draft specialist.

Each week, ESPN.com.au AFL draft expert Christopher Doerre - aka Knightmare
Top-ager and Northern Blue Hisham Kerbatieh, a 180cm forward, played unselfishly and on several occasions used his vision to find forwards inside 50m in better position than himself to finish for higher percentage shots on goal. The forward pressure he provided was also very good as it has been for much of this year. Link

I took the previous comments with a grain of salt because I've seen previously how he distributes the footy inside 50. The only concerning thing for me was that he didn't finish the game off well due to a calf complaint.

In that TAC Cup grand final, I thought McGrath did nothing in the midfield until he totally dominated the game down back. A bit fumbly in the midfield but in a few year's he'd be in any team's top 3 most important players coming off a back flank.

McGrath. Just watched his highlights. Mongrel and willingness to take the game on.

I love him. Will be gone by 2 though. Smokey for 1.

Disposal a bit iffy, but high impact/ high possession player.

For a pick 1 or 2, I would want the player to be a better kick. He won the ball really well in defence, but I was waiting for him to pin the ears back use his pace, take a couple of bounces and drive it inside 50. He was always looking for someone to hand pass it to. His stats were pumped with lots of 1 -2 handballs

My live viewing has been very limited so I have to use what I saw live and then guess on the players I didn't, using profiles and others' write-ups and Youtube vision. So in other words it's largely a gut feel. :)

Top tier: McCluggage, Brodie & McGrath - The class was clear from this lot.
Next tier: SPS, Scrimshaw & Bowes (although I haven't seen him live) - Scrimshaw was very interesting in that the upside could be huge.
Tier after: Taranto, Drew, Gallucci, Ainsworth

Players I watched and liked in small samples only: Venables, Clarke, Florent, Rotham

I like your method Harker, if the outcome were such and the Baggers retain Pick 5, it would mean a choice between SPS and Scrimshaw.
It would be very good luck for the Blues if we were to land SPS. I'd be absolutly estatic.
Go Baggers

Think the best player for us, may not be the consensus number one pick.
McCluggage is a seriously good footballer, highly skilled inside outside goal kicking midfielder.
No doubt he would be a great addition to our midfield.
There are slight concerns over the small frame light body and lack of break away speed.
Doesn't really suit the Essendons Midfield they already have Marrett and Parish as smaller mids.

McGrath also great footballer and could offer us some real run and carry from half back or through the midfield.
Seems to be the buzz player ATM, does have a heap of extremely good attibutes and seems to be ok with moving interstate.
Kicking has being questioned, but it's nothing that can't be developed to a higher standard.
So the top 2 would certainly offer plenty to our list, but it could be that other prospect could offer the team even more.

Anisworth is the player i think would be the best fit for Carlton. He is a small forward that plays like a tall forward, he would be perfect for our forward line.
Has shown he can play through the midfield, win contested ball, win clearances, have 5+ shots on goal and he's field kicking is right up there with the best in this year draft IMO, he hits targets and gets very good penetration with he's kicks.
There aren't many players like Anisworth, high quality small forwards that can also play midfield to a high standard are very rare. The closest comparison I can make is Devon Smith, although Anisworth is much more impressive over head mark. Would make our forward line instantly more potent and would also provide some support for our midfield.

Will Brodie is the bust proof player of the top group, we desperately need some support for Cripps on the inside and Brodie would be the best player in the draft to help in that area. Is no slouch on the outside, also providing some really powerful run and carry.
Brodie would probably partner Cripps better then McCluggage. The idea of Cripps and Brodie feeding out bullet handballs is pretty mouth watering.
The great thing that Brodie has aside from he's contested ball winning ability is a very sharp burst of pace and he covers the ground really well. Moves very well for a taller midfielder.
We really need another player who can win 10+ clearances a game and this would have a massive flow on effect through the midfield. It would mean Murph and Gibbs could play more outside roles. Would also take the pressure off Cripps and allow him to play up forward a little more.

Scrimshaw has so many good traits, it's hard to see him not being able to become a tall midfielder.
At 193cm he moves so well through traffic and kicks really well off he's left foot even when under real pressure.
If we did take him, he can play a few different positions and even be developed into a mid, opposition teams would really struggle to match up on Cripps Scrimshaw and potential even Charlie Curnow, that's three 193cm+ mids

Anisworth reminds me of Paul Haselby. Mid/forward, solid and reads the play well. I'm going to be super-critical here but his kicking style worries me a bit. Too much left swing on his follow through.

I am confident that I am alone on this thought, but Brodie does not have the class to be an A grade mid. His disposal is average on his dominant side and poor on his left side. I don't rate him in the first 6 picks

The worry with Brodie is his size. He's done well being a bigger lad against boys, but will that translate into AFL footy against men?

On one hand he could be another Palmer or Rich. On the other he could be another Bont or Cripps. It's hard to tell, which is why he's slid a bit.

Why not, unless he's been up against skinny bottom-agers through the course of the year?
Brodie is strong but he will only get stronger, smarter......and bigger.

Whichever way though, what we may have thought as being the top five only a few weeks ago, looks likely to have some changes.
Unlikely that McCluggage, Brodie, Petrevski-Seton, Ainsworth & McGrath will all be in that top 5.

Apparently some recruiters have Scrimshaw as the #1. (Heard this on radio so it may have little weight)

EDIT: If nothing changed with our picks I'd be thrilled with Brodie and Florent with our second.

I anticipate a lot of changes.

And I love McGrath. Id go McGrath over Brodie if available.

Pretty sure we won't be seeing McGrath any more.
Only being talked about as a chance at top ten a couple of months back.......now a possible #1.

Gallucci doesn't even seem to get mentioned here any more.
I hear SOS likes him though........or at least used to, but I don't think it works that way.

Florent? Would take half the draft class before him. Zero impact player for the vast majority of a game.

I like the way he moves even though it seems to be a little uncoordinated for now.

Zero impact? Was one of the best in last weeks TAC GF. That doesn't suggest zero impact to me.

I'm a fan of Brodie but I'm not sure he'd compliment Cripps, with Cripps we already have the best inside mid in the comp. A good way to take the pressure of him would be to get an elite damaging outside mid first and I'm starting to lean towards SPS. Plenty of good inside mids later in the draft to take the pressure of Cripps i.e Clarke- Pitman-, big fan of Fisher although he's not really an inside mid, he just gets a tonne of the ball and uses it well much like Comitogianni who is getting no love from draft watchers or the clubs it seems, can't believe he didn't even get an invite to the state combine. Utter disgrace.
