CEY put the effort in last year, he had a blinder of a year in the magoos if that isn't going to get him picked apart from making breakfast for Pyle every morning, nothing will
However ......i couldn't see Pyke keeping Walker or Sloane in the SANFL unless there was a reason

CEY was in the SANFL .....and dropped after 1 reasonably good AFL game for a reason .....we just don't know what that reason was ......players really do pick themselves

Yes unfortunately age catches everyone but if we can pick a thommo it will be the best draft hammish has ever done but that is a huge task to find such a player
Or we could attempt to repeat history, draft Tyson Stengle, then trade him for the next Scott Thompson in a few years time.

Brett Anderson believes SYD is club showing some interest in Josh Battle and if he is passed on there prob gets through to
Essendons 2nd round

C'mon Sydney - do it !!!
No SPP invite, surprised thought he'd be in the mix for WCE and even Freo...

We didn't draft Stenglein with our first round pick. So we could get Stengle later in the draft.
Now that Danger in Texas would like very much, toss up for me between Parfitt, Stengle and LeBois, would really like one of them on our list to develop for the defensive pressure they offer along with their natural talent and flair.

Couldn't do that or Danger in Texas would dump a tip truck load of horse manure on the AFC's doorstep..:)
Fresh, steaming manure at that

Better. :)

Personally see Parfitt as a midfielder long term, really like his work in close and accumulation. Rate Stengle a fair way above Le Bois, quite inconsistent in performance and skills at this stage

I think you might be suffering from psychosis or you are not reading what I was replying to. My reply was not related to Berry himself. My response was to Damger in Texas' claim that self confidence can improve in a professional environment (i.e. Self doubt can disappear.). Now the topic of conversation might have started by comments about Berry but my reply was purely to the claim that self doubts can disappear in professional environment. Nothing to do with Berry the player or person. I will leave that analysis to Hamish and the team.
On this... I feel that, in Berry's case, a lot of his self doubt has come from his injuries. He is very much a natural hard nut, but, despite being 191cm, is 80kg. This is quite light, so naturally he'll get hurt more. Once he puts on size, his already strong character on field, combined with his constant ability to play hard without getting hurt as much, should see him develop more self confidence.

Don't want Cox at 13, no way. Milera has outside class and hits the man quite well for someone so slight. Cox may be similar in some respects but it is definitely not in the club's best interests to spend a first rounder on an outside mid two years running.

Give me a balanced, or inside-leaning mid any day of the week. There are only so many pure outside types you can have in a team. Being able to win your own ball is vital.

Looking at the number of posts per user in this thread I'd suggest interest is limited to a very few number of people but I wouldn't say that's the case every off season. I can't put my finger on why.
Yeah, still recovering from such an impressive trade period myself, hard to get too excited about the draft.

We can't rely on trading in quality mids.
But it's worked so well for us over the past two trade periods! Oh wait...

My final order of preference is:

1. Brodie
2. Florent
3. Hayward
4. Berry
5. Venables

Guaranteed to be at least 2 of those 5 available at our selection by the looks. Feels like we'll end up with Hayward or Berry doesn't it but you never really know.

Anyone else think the club will use their pick 13 to draft a player that none of us have been talking about? similar to last year with what they did when they picked up Tom Doedee? I am expecting massive backlash and a meltdown if we don't pick up one of the mids we have all been hoping for.
Brodie (doubt he will be there at 13)
Taranto (doubt he will be there at 13)
Berry
Venables
Gallucci
Florent (maybe, ive heard that he isn't too keen on leaving Victoria)

Wouldn't it be nice if Jack Graham got through to our pick 43!
