It goes both ways. Ayres gets the credit for drafting Laurence Angwin, when Fantasia wanted Shaun Burgoyne.

well part of it will always be about communication and normalising standards across all the scouts around the country which the guy in the head job would be more or less responsible for.

but yeah, the guys flagging the players that need to be looked at deserve some credit too, but they get internal recognition rather than external.

Haggis is based in Victoria for a reason.....the TAC system is head and shoulders above the other state systems...a lot of the good NSW GWS Academy players also come through this system...

Adelaide have 6 list vacancies, and 6 picks in the ND. I would be very surprised if we didn't use at least 5 of them.

We also have 2 vacancies on the rookie list, possibly 3 if we go "one short" on the senior list. I would expect all of these vacancies to be filled via the RD.

Already factored in, and not really relevant to our draft position.

Reilly O'Brien has been upgraded to the senior list. Hunter, Beech, Keath (Cat B) and Greenwood (Cat B) have all been retained on the rookie list.

No, we can't. The deadline for permanent rookie upgrades was October 31st.

Beech will definitely be on our rookie list in 2017. He may receive a mid-season upgrade, possibly as a nominated rookie, but that doesn't give us an extra pick in the rookie draft.

They are still not sure on what the rules wil be. Last season you could go in with 39 listed and have a nominated rookie.

I seriously doubt it. Feel there's been a much wider pool of players talked about this year.

Zero chance on Taranto. Brodie looking more possible by the day. Won't take Graham at 43 even if he's there if we take Brodie.

Will throw up in my mouth a little bit if we take Gallucci. Dumb if we take Florent - go home factor overload.

Whether they go with a consolidated list or not, the rookie draft is next Monday (3 days after the ND). They're not going to change the rules between now and then, so we're not going to be able to get an extra pick in the RD this year.

This is correct. It was your assertion that we could go with 4 selections in the RD which I objected to. The only way this would be possible is if we go two short on the senior list. I don't think that's a likely outcome.
