I imagine GC would be nice and warm in late March.
If by nice and warm you actually mean hot and sticky as all ****, then yes, you're right! :p

For those who haven't come up to Metricon before, you've got the perfect opportunity for a great little weekend holiday. Obviously pending flooding or rain (typical QLD), it'll be a sunny 30 degrees during the day and the sun won't be down until around 3/4 time or so. Perfect time of year for sitting on the beach or just roaming the streets of the GC.

South East Queensland has a pretty big Essendon supporter base so the turnout will be close to a sellout, I imagine!

For me, and ideal fixture would be something like this

TEAMS PLAYED TWICE (5)
Adelaide.....................away in Adelaide, home at ETIHAD
GEELONG...................away at MCG, home at MCG
Melbourne..................away at MCG, home at ETIHAD
West Coast.................away at Subi, home at ETIHAD
Richmond...................away at MCG, home at MCG

TEAMS PLAYED ONCE (12)
Collingwood........ away MCG
Carlton............... away MCG
Hawthorn ............away MCG
GWS....................away
Port Adelaide........away
Brisbane...............away

St.Kilda................home ETIHAD
Bulldogs...............home ETIHAD
Nth Melbourne......home MCG
Fremantle............home ETIHAD
Sydney...............home MCG
Gold Coast..........home ETIHAD

10 games at the MCG (4 home, 6 away)
7 games at Etihad (just our 7 home games)
5 interstate

4 MCG home games against Richmond, Geelong, Nth Melbourne and Sydney

Make sure we don't have away games against St.Kilda, Western Bulldogs and North Melbourne (which would maximise Etihad games when instead we want to be maximising MCG games)

That would be my ideal fixture.
Why would you want our biggest bogey in Geelong twice? Rather masochistic. Once is more than enough thanks.

Eh. No real interest in this country game.

Could make for a pretty cool day for the family with the markets and such. If they can capture that country football feel I think it could be a really good event.

Anyway...

Some talk also of us playing the Cats twice and the other game being...wait for it...in Geelong.
Source?

I think it is awesome to be honest. No team should be immune to travelling to another team's home ground.

Plus, we haven't lost to them there since the 90's ;)
And we haven't lost at the MCG to them since 2010 ;)

Because that's the last time we played them at those venues

We suck against Geelong :(

The Greater Western Sydney GIANTS' clash with Geelong at ŠKODA Stadium on June 8 will pay tribute to the farmers of Australia. GIANTS Head Coach Kevin Sheedy today launched the inaugural 'Tribute to Farmers' game with Victorian Premier Denis Napthine, also a keen Geelong fan and MLA for Portland in western Victoria. Sheedy said the GIANTS wanted to build an iconic game that recognised the contribution made by farmers to Australia

Essendon and Geelong will play in an annual NAB challenge game in the country, this year in Shepparton on Saturday, March 5.
