So the next lowest in that time is 6/16.

We're certainly a large outlier. It's very strange.

Not really.

The AFL wants to capitalise on early season optimism, and schedules Essendon against smaller clubs with the intent of boosting crowd numbers.

Yes, but compare our number to Collingwood. Or Carlton. Or Richmond. Or Hawthorn.

It's unusually small.

Also has Sheeds got a screw loose, why do we want to play Geelong in a special match? Can't we get a special game against some shit team each year?

Anybody know the last time we played Carlton at Princes Park? Doss, this seems to be like something you'd know.

1992.

(well unless there was a shitty pre-season game in there somewhere since)

Can't remember if we had a shitty pre-season game against Carlton but we played Sydney there in a practice game in 2006. I only remember two things from the game, firstly Dempsey collecting the ball at half back taking four or five bounces to kick a great goal, thus thinking how great is this bloke going to be! Secondly when everyone was on the ground I witnessed Kevin Sheedy go up to a 7-8yo kid and asking for a hot chip from his bucket, the kid's face was beaming!

We played Brisbane in the NAB cup there probably about 4 years ago.
