Really get sick of this. For the record - it wasn't Trigg that agreed to the deal. He failed to adequately fix it once it was discovered. It was Bob Reid - you know, the father of the guy currently responsible for negotiating contracts for the AFC.
John Reid

so let me get this right... if rumblings are true, Thommo becomes an emergency only, Lyons gone, Henderson gone, CEY gone, Grigg gone...
that's two full time midfielders, our next in line and a depth player gone... no ins (as yet) just unsubstantiated rumours. There HAS to be a pretty solid plan in place or next year will be one of great disappointment for us.

Who is actually likely to come in?

Don't all contracts need higher approval or is that only something we do since that debacle?

Welcome aboard

Look, most of them are gone from the club now but the size of Tippets contract would have required authorisation from the CEO or the board.

For anyone to try and pass the buck by saying the CEO or Board didn't know about it is being very naive.

That is incorrect.. I factually know that John Reid was not the one who caused all that trouble, he tried to take the fall for it so there were no consequences to the club as he was out of the club already but unfortunately it wasn't able to be sorted that way. We have a very close link to that family so don't make things up if you don't know facts.

You have no idea Alex. Things were done differently back then. John Reid thought he WAS Adelaide.

Right. Of course I don't.

You go girl. Keep fighting that good fight for twiggy

Ask him and he will tell you, any contract over $500,000 a year needed authorisation.

Come on Jen, there is no way in hell Trigg wasn't aware of it.

I have a close link to others involved. I am not making anything up, just going on what I've been told. I've also met John many times, and found him a most disagreeable old bugger. He loved the club though, couldn't question that.

With respect to you and your relationships Jenn, I doubt you would always be told the full story - especially if that story makes the person telling it either complicit in the activity; or incomprehensibly negligent in their position.
