Wasn't contracted. Wasn't going to be offered another contract.

And that's before you consider the other unique circumstances (i.e. his record of off-field indiscretions, and the Tiprat penalties).

For someone so confident, you certainly get critical information required to form sound opinions very wrong. Vince now apparently not contracted when traded? Sometimes Vader, you really do crack me up.

Who would of thought Vader getting his facts wrong, again. Colour me surprised :p

Not a particularly relevant fact when discussing whether the club would ever strongly suggest that a contracted player's future might lay elsewhere. Odd that it's even been brought up in the discussion. Vince contracted you say, irrelevant says Vader .

Richmond are shit, who cares?

Rockliff won't take them from a top 6 to a top 4 side - they shouldn't be interested in him.
also that Richmond rate Prestia over Rockliff .......and given Deledio looks on the move ....still no need?

Richmond hasn't clicked yet that they need more talent ......going for a flag in 2017 ....finishing 9th yet again

What this shows is that anyone we draft won't be a regular player for 3 years, and that is only about a 50% chance. Adds fuel to the trade picks for quality players for as we need contributors now. And keep lyons as well unless he is part of the trade in getting a quality mid

Lyons is worth 15-20 - if we can't get that, we shouldn't even consider trading him.

That said, based on our apparent contract offer, we'll accept pick #69.
I think that's a bit much. I'd value him somewhere between 20-30.

Holy Cow, i just realised Ben Jarman in available in this year's draft

I've always thought it was next year's

COME ON YOU MOTHER****ERS BRING THAT BABY HOME*

If we don't pick him, you know he will become a star somewhere else - like, say, HAWTHORN - c'mon guys, do it

* EDIT: as in, if Ben still has to make a selection, we should have been throwing the kitchen sink at him and his old man.

Looking at the size of Fudd, I think we have been throwing the kitchen sink and even the kitchen at him.

Mark Bickley would be keen.

Speaking of assistants, did anything ever come from those rumblings a while back about Peter Sumich coming across to the Crows? Our season has been over for several weeks now but haven't really seen too many moves happening on the coaching front.
Caro said last night it's a done deal. Big get. Big. Huge.

Yeah .....Milera certainly one of the skinnier 18YO's i've seen .......he won't fill-out at all :rolleyes::rolleyes:

How so ? .....you know him ? ......you seen him work??? ......you know why he failed at every senior coaching job interview ......so why is it "big get, Big, Huge"

For a young kid in first afl season I loved his attack on the man.

Remember him ironing out a few bigger players during the season with perfectly timed bumps.

Saw him do it a number of times at afl level too.

He is going to be a star without question.

Well she was wrong there as it was just announced in a news article that he is going to coach the WA under 18's on a 2 year contract and has declined Adelaide's advances to be an assistant.. Wonder who we are actually speaking to for that role, has been a while now.. Surely something is happening.

I value my kitchen sink. It would get lost in Darren [emoji33]

To put it into context, Lyons was drafted in 2010 and has played 55 AFL games.

Here is the 15-25 list from his draft class:
1 15 Geelong Billie Smedts Geelong 38
1 16 Port Adelaide Ben Jacobs North Melbourne 77
1 17 North Melbourne Shaun Atley North Melbourne 132
1 18 Carlton Matthew Watson 23
1 19 Hawthorn Isaac Smith Hawthorn 135
1 20 Fremantle Jayden Pitt 10
1 21 Sydney Jed Lamb Carlton 37
1 22 Father/Son Western Bulldogs Mitchell Wallis Western Bulldogs 93
1 23 Geelong Cameron Guthrie Geelong 108
1 24 St Kilda Jamie Cripps West Coast 98
1 25 Brisbane Patrick Karnezis 25

6 of 11 have played more than Lyons. 5 of 11 have played less.

Here's the 26-35 group (same draft):

26 Priority West Coast Jack Darling West Coast 128
2 27 North Melbourne Kieran Harper 40
2 28 Brisbane Ryan Lester Brisbane 80
2 29 West Coast Scott Lycett West Coast 49
2 30 Richmond Jake Batchelor Richmond 83
2 31 Essendon Ariel Steinberg 10
2 32 Brisbane Joshua Green Brisbane 81
2 33 Melbourne Jeremy Howe Collingwood 120
2 34 Carlton Patrick McCarthy 1
2 35 Port Adelaide Ben Newton Melbourne 17

5 of 10 have played more, 5 of 10 have played less. Lycett (49 games) is reasonably close to Lyons (55) total.

Looks to me as if a 26-35 pick is about fair for Lyons.

Of course, Charlie Cameron doesn't even have the value of a top 10 pick. Perhaps an early second.

Which means there little value in trading him at all. He's worth more to us than what he is on the open market. It's a buyers market.

TBH, despite his numbers and this "low productivity" tripe I'd be ****ing pissed if we traded CC. Can't even believe there's suggestions of it.

When did Menzel ever become a mid? Doesn't have the tank or the heart.
Why just why? More talented and has built a good tank this year and has shown plenty of heart in games played in 2nd half of year. I'm furious at Captain:mad:;)

Well that's just awkward now ...

Darren Glass perhaps?

Darren Glass perhaps?

I thought he didn't want to move out of WA? I think he signed on as some kind of leadership consultant or something when Phil Walsh took over, but my understanding is that he was just working remotely or over here for a day or two every now and again. Unless he's changed his mind and wants to get more involved?

He's very highly rated. Disappointed it didn't turn out.

He's established in Perth, would take a big offer or opportunity for him to leave there. Him coming to us would have not just been a big get, but a big statement.

I thought it was because he was studying a MBA at the time. May be done now?
