Worth considering how durable Gibbs has been in the past. Might be playing well into his thirties. Only issue would be shoulders I would think
I said that and got shouted down by DVB about it.

If we didnt take Daisy as a FA we would of got a 1st round pick after our selection that year, which was Mcarthy.
You know this how?

And even if we did manage to get a band 1 pick, how do you know we would have taken McCarthy?

There's cause to look for a good KPD if they're available.

Which pretty much leaves the Brown twins and Hooker.

Hooker is very good obviously but he'll be highly sought after. I'd say most clubs across the competition will be touching base with his manager throughout the year.

I can't imagine he'd want to join Carlton right now for any reason other than significant money, and given where we're at I'd rather not offer a contract of that magnitude to someone who won't pull on the navy blue jumper before he turns 28.

Neither of the Brown twins do much for me. Would rather we steer clear of both.

It came down to a pick between him and Cripps when we came to make our selection, it's on the internet somewhere. I'm sure our thinking wouldn't have completely changed had we have had two picks in succession. There simply would have been no need to make the decision, we would have drafted both.

If fit they're a good upgrade on Rowe, but as you've pointed out, it comes down to interest of both parties and wages.

On another note if jaksch doesn't play against Sydney it would appear he hasn't impressed Bolton at all.

We all know about the question marks over his work ethic and commitment and Bolton has repeatedly said this year he is driving the team to high standards, high work ethic and an United team...seems like over the pre season jaksch hasn't lifted his game...surely he knows his career is already at the crossroads

Any truth to the rumour that weitering will be trialed at chf?
As long as he is happy to hold down FB simultaneously I'm good with it.

An up-to-date list of free agents that may be available at the end of the year:

Will Schofield would be worth a look as a replacement for Jamison/alternative to Rowe to help Weitering and co out. Originally from Victoria, turns 28 at the beginning of the 2017 season. You'd think we'd have a bit of cap space free with Jamison, Walker & Simpson retiring in the near future + the likes of Henderson and Yarran departing.

Would be hard to get anyone out of the Eagles at the moment especially as best 22 player

To the Qn about Weits playing forward, maybe we should ask the regular training attendees have they seen him playing forward at all?
That'd answer the Qn I would have thought.

Personally I love the idea.
He has plenty of time to play down back, surely it doesn't hurt to trial him just a little bit up forward.

What if he absolutely dominates?
It has always been said you take a great forward over a great defender.
Quite simply it is harder to dominate as a forward.
