Are you sure that is correct? My understanding is that the original PAFC was awarded the AFL sub-license via the SANFL. Part of the license conditions was that a Port Adelaide team remained in the SANFL, hence a new entity was created for that purpose.

You are 100% correct .. you have stated it better than me .. thanks ...that's when the Port Adelaide Magpies Football Club was formed to play in the SANFL.

There is nothing wrong with what i wrote. A vast majority of your supporter base stayed away when you were losing, bleeding money and the club needed you. Now they've returned when you were winning, there is no getting around you have a bandwagon supporter base.

What is so funny here is you all keep banging on about something that is fact. Our supporters dropped off. Yes they did. What is there to argue about? In fact I'm not denying any of your points. Yes there was a massive dip in the years that followed 2012 and we yes thanks to KT we are now re-gaining ground. There would be no port supporter who isn't happy about the improvements. My comments were that those terrible times make these days even sweeter. Ups and downs part of life.

Got to admit some of the best days I had at the footy with mates was in those dark days for you guys. Not because of the obvious you guys losing, but because for us guys that went it was a decent day out. With no one there we had plenty of room to spread out, and no line ups for beers. Many a time the bar staff outnumbered us in the Eastern side main bar at Footy Park.

My Port supporting mates had a great sense of humour about the situation, and still stuck by their club. I tagged along as I enjoyed watching footy and a day on the beers at a game I didn't really care about the result or didn't feel I had to watch every play.


Do understand your point though about it being sweeter. For those that went to games then and stuck thick with the club and supported them any success you guys have is well deserved. Would be nice if those that have found "their" club again hang around for the inevitable drop off.

Have you heard about how comparative results can be manipulated by leaving out vital bits of info, for example time slots, who we played?

I mean since the devastation of that GF loss and the years that followed and the 2011 2012 years. We overachieved to make that GF that year and I still shudder remembering that day. Now we are gradually building and back in a good place . Not denying the loss, aware of your shadenfreude and it is to be expectected from Crows people but no amount of bringing up 2007 or the tarps or whatever else you want to throw at us will deflate us now .

You are in a good place but to suggest you are in a better place than your 2007 year is stupid. You made a GF which is not easy to do. You got flogged because you didnt turn up not because you over achieved. You didnt have the tarps then either and were averaging the same crowds as you do now. Dont mistake your over hyped 2014 year as being better than 2007.

Agree with this. Beware of the self-appointed impartial Port supporter. The funny thing is over on the Port board he's making all sorts of critical comments about the Crows and then comes over here wanting sympathy.

Yeah? Adelaide managed to get 47k on Easter Sunday against the worst pulling Victorian team in the Kangaroos. You also managed to pull 50k over the ANZAC day long weekend. Yet only managed mid 30's on your final two Saturday night home games. I wonder why..
