The Tealsters once again beating their chests and making their silly predictions about a 2016 premiership. When will they ever learn? Please don't change, it makes the fall all the more spectacular. So if they don't win it this year, does that mean Kern is no longer the messiah? The funny thing is they actually believe in some type of football prophecy where will they become a dynasty and the rest of the competition will step aside to allow this to happen.

Its just a fun thread ... did you see what got the most votes ...>>>> All other clubs ejected from league due to drug offences, PAFC declared premiers by default.
Its the off season :)

Calm Down , it's the offseason :D

It's still an AFL thread. I don't want to read about Salim Malik. I couldn't care less, and surely there's another thread for it.

Wasn't the "Backyard" setup for discussions off footy topics ??

Everyone's trying to relieve some guilty pressure because they nervously think it's true.

Yeah, keep to either soccer or cricket. (since Salim Malik is a ex-cricketer), but not both

:)

Well, there is the "Salim Malik: will he fit into our coaching staff?" thread, but I haven't started it yet.

I don't rate Port's squad as a top 6. I think they have too many holes in the squad. Dixon is a good get but an inconsistent one and their consistent forward is on his way out. They probably do have the best or one of the best midfields in the comp which creates a nice shape to their best 22 but their depth is possibly one of the worst in the AFL and as soon as they get an injury to anyone in that team they will fall apart as shown by last season.

Not if Alec Scheiner is leading the selection of the new guys. :(

Had to google him. I don't know what the American way to put it is, but he looks like a smarmy prick. Actually, he looks a bit like Trigg

Depth. Mmm what is really important is that we lost no guns last year. Yet we have just added Dixon Toumpas Bonner Snelling and the other new ones while only losing Moore who 'might' have got a game and while also discovering AhChee and Sam Gray to be contenders for first 22. I think we have depth, more depth than we had last season by far. Will be an interesting season but of course you will hope this is not so.

I'm fairly sure we got told by your lot last season that your depth was fine then too...

Do we have better depth than your team, or worse?

Toumpas couldn't get a game at the dees, Bonner and Snelling are draftees taken at the arse end of a a shallow draft no one rates past pick 20 and Dixon was inconsistent and injury prone. Hate to say it, your depth is just as screwed as it always is.

You obviously think yours is better, well it has improved as you no longer have 35yr old Logan as a rookie.
No, I'm not saying ours is better, I am asking where you think the depth of the 2 club sits in comparison to each other, as depth will always come into play during the season.

Three of our draftees were rated within the top 30 or so by several phantom drafts (Bonner Snelling and Johnson) so I actually think we did pretty well considering where our actual draft picks fell. Toumpas has as much chance of doing well as Menzel, (Toump also has had injuries) and you seem to rate Menzel plus Toump is putting in 100% this preseason and showing promising signs. He is a depth player initially I agree. Bonner and Snelling could possibly play and are depth too.
