Ours is better but I do believe you hold the cards in on weight of on field best 22 talent for now.
So if you have greater depth and ours is shallow then would you be rating your team to likely finish above ours? Let me re-word that. Is it first 22 talent that matters more, or depth that matters more when you are predicting a season?

They trust Dixon so much they decided to keep 'The future' around for insurance.
He is more insurance for Schulz who played with a back injury the majority of last year, plus if Ryder is suspended due to WADA.

Three of our draftees were rated within the top 30 or so by several phantom drafts (Bonner Snelling and Johnson) so I actually think we did pretty well considering where our actual draft picks fell. Toumpas has as much chance of doing well as Menzel, (Toump also has had injuries) and you seem to rate Menzel plus Toump is putting in 100% this preseason and showing promising signs. He is a depth player initially I agree. Bonner and Snelling could possibly play and are depth too.

Toumpus is a proven flop while Menzel has shown amazing talent in the comps worst forward line. How do they have the same chance of doing well

Classic :) Something called attitude and work rate might have some influence. Obviously Melbourne were happy to let go of the proven flop but it is strange that Carlton let go so easily of an Amazing talent.

Do we have better depth than your team, or worse?

My honest answer is that I don't know. What I'm not about to do is let my optimism bias lead me to make claims that our depth is fine before it's put to the test against AFL level competition. Anyway I hardly see the relevance our depth has with yours.

Good deflection. Anyway enjoy your season. Your club has you trained well. Don't expect too much or get your hopes too high and then disappointment will not follow I guess is your motto. Farewell.

So basically you want us to reply to you that we're Premiership favourites so you can run back to your board and go "Look, those stupid Crows think they're gonna win".

 Season b4 last this board would have gone into meltdown at the thought of getting Toumpas to the club .......have things changed because he ended up at Port?

No I don't. I'm just curious about the depth talk and how valid it is as it was mentioned a s a slur on our team and is it more important than best 22 or less important? I wouldn't expect you to say you are Premiership favourites however I thought that all supporters hope in their heart that somehow they will get there. Seasons are fairly unpredictable and the teams are more even than ever these days.

He is worth a shot as a turn around but his exposed afl form is terrible. Slow, no weapons do you rate him?
Honestly haven't watched him closely ......he seems to be following the Melbourne trend of high failure rate .....surely not all Melbourne draftees had no talent to have as many delisted?

Question with Toumpas is, is he too damaged by the Melb experience?

There was some talk that they did play him too soon, from necessity, and it may have knocked his confidence, then decimated with injuries. A couple of years at a decent club and hopefully less injury and we will see I guess.

So shown nothing but injured makes him as good a chance as a guy that has shown a heap (also been injured). Nice logic.
I go back to the logic that Menzel was let go very very easily by Carlton.

Think if you can get them early after 2-3 years you can turn the player around .......Watts is gone

Think you're right about being played too early (supporter expectation) .....plus he did talk in interviews about the pressure & expectations of being a pick 4

Those expectations are gone .......it didn't help Tambling changing clubs because by then he was too Richmond indoctrinated

That is always the concern with these type of players I agree.
