Think y’all underselling English a bit bloke has put on a good amount of size already and with his skills only needs to be an average tap ruckman to be elite. I’d have my money on Darcy being the better stoppage player but.

English was dropped this week. His attack on the ball is underwhelming around the ground, but he also deserves massive credit for holding his own at that age against AFL rucks. Need more time to see what happens

Sorry, but I'm not drinking the SPS coolaid that most of the media are drinking at the moment. I wouldn't be picking him in the first 10 based on his current output.

*Touch wood this happens to be the best draft since 2010 for the Eagles (Gaff, Darling, Lycett and Gov in the rookie). Venables looked good in his few games so far and has elite characteristics. Willie and Waterman are already performing and holding their spot in the seniors.

He might be one that slips further and further down the list as time moves on from that draft and the rest of his draft class catch up physically but perhaps have more tools on their belt.

No question. Still way too early to place him in a redo of the 2016 draft.

But at least he's got himself a run of games now to get him on the radar.

Agree. Has to be top 5 given the degree of difficulty in the role he is currently succeeding in.
