I don't love it.

With Petracca, Garlett, Bray, Vanders and maybe Harmes capable of going forward we don't need him.

Good user but at his age and position it's not worth it when we aren't ready to challenge.

No I do tend to agree but I hope someone picks him up, he's good enough to play AFL next year

AA for Jaeger he has/had the potential to be anything he wanted but we need to back our ability to develop someone like him from within, if we can't we are ****ed anyway

He also has some serious injury concerns. As high as his ceiling is I'd prefer to avoid him.

There's no reason we shouldn't be able to develop Brayshaw into the player Jaeger looked like becoming
We don't have the trade pieces unless hogan drops a bombshell

I don't think we trade for ANYTHING outside Hibberd unless like you said Hogan demands a move. We just don't have the currency and I get the feeling the club is pretty happy with the list as it stands.

That being said, the kids a superstar when fit and if there is any chance we could get him I'd explore it

Getting boomed for a year or two wouldn't be the worst, I hate the attitude of 'taking a game off a kid'
If we have someone who can outperform boomer harvey next year then who gives a shit if we are paying a bloke 250-300k a season to be a reserves player

He could surely teach some blokes about training habits
Doesn't defend, so wouldn't really fit with what I think we are trying to build. And a much too old dog for new tricks. Some value in pissing off Norf supporters, but even so it's no thanks from me.

He'd fit perfectly into our forward line of non tacklers then lol
I've just moved into a new house with 7 roommates and it seems they individually want to take me out for beers every night so my posting level will be worse than usual

Nah - that's what I mean. We don't need another Garlett who tackles on occasion when in the mood. As for being an example to Kent (I know it wasn't you who said it) erk. Kent tackles and plays for the team. Okay so he is still young, has gone missing on occasion and has done some silly things, but when he's good he's very valuable. He's heading in the right direction, getting him to model himself on Boomer is a journey down a cul de sac. Horrid idea.

I'm sure nobody will notice the difference :p

Don't take this to heart but that probably means they can't stand you and one person is designated to take a bullet and keep you out of the house every night.

Don't worry they'll be right off me soon enough, my ability to drink free beers is the stuff of folklore amongst my friends

Agree again - the guy has played 3 NEAFL games in two years, on limited time - and reports were that he was avoiding heavy contact.

He also went in for another arthriscope a few weeks ago after the NEAFL games.

Rupturing a patella tendon basically ruins him.

Anyone saying first rounders plus extras, needs to think about Trengove - would you have traded that for him end of last year? Its similar (even if JOM is a higher level talent). Highly rated kid, potential career ending injury, not played for two years. No way would you pay even one first rounder.

Anyone else got an eye on a 20/80 ruck forward? If we ditch Dawes, does Pedo fill that space till Weid puts on some kegs? Also not super comfy relying on Max to not get injured... a backup ruck would be nice

I'm a big fan of Tom Campbell from the doggies. Kicked 4 against the Crows couple of years ago as a resting Ruckman and actually beat Gawn this year and lowerd his colours. Had an ankle injury this year but he is a massive upgrade on Jake Spencer because he can rest up forward and clunk marks.

Campbell averages 0.6 goals and 2.6 marks per game over his career. Handy back-up ruck but I'd put him on Spencer's level so not worth trading for imo.

Rory Lobb would be perfect as that 80/20 forward/ruck but he'll either stay at the Giants or head home to WA by the sounds of it.

Nathan Vardy from the Cats could be worth the risk if we get him on the cheap and he gets his body right.

Liam McBean from the Tigers is 202cm and has booted 40-plus goals this year in the VFL and plays a bit of ruck, but the Tigers supporters I know say he's wildly inconsistent.

Really would be handy if Max King had've come on. I wonder if we give him another year or not?

I still don't really understand how our forward setup is going to work. Weid isn't there yet, and he hasn't got the body to play deep. Only bodies we have are Hogan and Pedersen... assuming Dawes is gone. Hoges has been playing deep, but i just don't feel like he gets the most out of himself playing so deep when opposition just drop an extra man in the space. Pedo is basically the poor man's version of what we need, a big body who can chop out in the ruck. Would like an extra Gorilla

When we play well our goals seem to come from the midfield group and hopefully Harmes and Petracca next year a bit too.

Id like to see Kennedy and Garlett in the same side sortof similar to how Cameron and Betts compliment each other at the crows.

I'd prefer Brayshaw over O'Meara. O'Meara has more talent but the injuries are a major concern, also Brayshaw is a pretty big part of the team, he's best mate with Petraaca and very well liked within the group and has a great future ahead of him. You just don't trade players like that.

We don't have the picks and/or players that we want to lose to satisfy GC.

Why are we all getting sucked in?

O'Meara hasn't played seniors in two years. Trading for him reeks of Mitch Clark without the mental health issues. He's never going to get on the park properly. He's going to cost us a bomb.

Exactly. I can see north getting him and trading their 2017 first, then they finish bottom 6 and GC are laughing all the way to the bank.

He is supremely talented but too much of a risk at the price he'd cost.

Brett Anderson on SEN is pretty strong on Motlop being shopped around by the Cats. Inconsistent but an amazing talent and someone who (at their best) would be that speed and class we'd love through the midfield.

Motlop would be a great get, would add little biy more class to the side.
