Hawks won't let Lewis go for the same price they let Mitchell go for. He's contracted and if they finally did decide to let him leave they'd play hard-ball and want a decent pick like a second rounder. Can't see us getting him for any less than a pick in the top 40.

If they need cap room for Mitchell and JOM being contracted will mean absolutely nothing

Don't you know PG is trying to quit!

Mitchell was contracted.

Upgrade their 3rd to ours and give them our 4th. Done.

Imagine you coach rings you to come round for a visit and you are expecting him to tell you that you are the new captain. Then he turns up and says we might have to let you go to free up cap room for one promising mid (Mitchell), one kid who hasn't played for two years and Ty ******* Vickery ffs.

I would want out as well
Yep. 100%.
"Darl, that was Clarko on the phone. I reckon he might want me to skipper"

Clarko: "....so yeah that's sort of where we're at mate"

Also I found reading the drafts and trading board very weird. Brisbane supporters bringing up players like Lewis being traded and perking up "Could well end up at the Lions!"

Reminds me of how we were acting at the end of 2012/13. We were so desperate to improve we made the most ridiculous claims and latched on to any rumour that had a half-decent player coming to Melbourne.

Funny how Hawks are acting like the nice guys with supporting Mitchells move and at the same time being campaigners by no letting Lewis follow his wishes

It's like a double date scenario from a sit com honestly. Trying to appease both but in the end loosing both

From Barro so true:
Talking about Fagan being the guy that had the ability to tug on Clarko's leash if he was getting too excitable.
Fagan gone + Clarko's supreme reign = chaos.

God I hope this is the case

Talk of a third round with possibly an exchange of late picks to sweeten it a bit for the Hawks, has me coming around to this Lewis malarkey. Yesterday when it was a good young player for Lewis, I was like, "**** no!"

Admittedly if they offered Lewis for Wagner I couldn't sign fast enough

We won't be giving up much for him i dont think. Id love to get him, just not at the expense of much given his age. Luckily for us if he comes it will be out of spite at the treatment he's got from the hawks and refuses to go back there. Its not a poaching situation where you pay overs to land a player. You gotta love spite.

Not sure idea want to tie up $650k+ for 2 years on Lewis though.

It could hinder our ability to land a younger free agent or trade aggressively for a couple of years.

If we get him for a third rounder and his salary isn't high, it would be awsome.

'Brian lake thinks his friend Lewis will go to Melbourne to prolong his career. '

Can anyone explain to me how that works? Won't he be the same age for us as he is for them?

And that age is 23, of course
