Feels to me like the defensive synergy of the team was nowhere near 2016 levels through much of the minor round.
That was the case in the first half of the season. It improved dramatically after the mid-season break.

Only one coach in one game have rated Mr Mackay 5th best on ground, absolutely appalling for a player who plays in the midfield.

He hasn't been good this season, despite what some people have said.

He has been slightly better than he usually is but has still served up tripe and we are taking him into another finals series expecting a different result.

Just like last year, at best, he's the 22nd player picked. But after his 2 droppings, he's actually earned that 22nd spot. Whereas last year he didn't. Here's hoping that slightly better form results in him being a positive contributor instead of a complete liability.
