Mitch would be good. Charlie even better.Adelaide apparently into Hopper.
What about Hopper for Mitch McGovern straight swap?
McGovern can play mobile high half forward and is a marking threat who could swing down back if we had some troops down.

Noise around McGovern is that he is likely to head home to Perth.
Also not sure where he would fit, unless GWS are going to trade one of Patton & Lobb.
Noise around Charlie was that he had some personal issues which were leading him to consider heading back to Queensland.
Ignoring that, something like Hopper for Charlie would make sense from a team need perspective.
GWS need to deliberately rookie a couple of potential pressure small forwards. Lots of those guys like Papley, Wright (Carlton), Cameron (Adelaide) come up without much fanfare.

Would be so good if guys got homesick for Western Sydney... In my dreams!
It's an 18 month old rumour, word was/is he doesn't want to come to Sydney
I'd love to, but personal view is that "GWS Posters only" threads reduce interest in the board when we seriously need to grow it.Is there some way to change the title of this thread to add something like GIANTS POSTERS ONLY so we stop having to deal with [you move] posts that should do obviously be in the other thread.
In regard to growing the board it's surprising to me how many people I run into on the main board who are GWS sigs or Sydney residents with some interest in our club, including membership in some cases I know of. Who never post hereI'd love to, but personal view is that "GWS Posters only" threads reduce interest in the board when we seriously need to grow it.
I am happy to play the janitor role until we no longer need it![]()

I'm not sure of the answer but maybe making it clear we welcome dual citizens, for now at least, might help? Dont think it's always that clear.
I kinda mention it when it seems appropriate. Thete's this whole traitor thing that makes it hard.If you have a free neon sign feel free to stick it out![]()
I suspect you're right about other players stalled until Kelly is resolved. Devon hinted at this in an interview, on Fox.So with no news on the contracts is it the feeling here that it is Kelly v Smith/Hopper?
Also Bam Bam and HH still to announce so also interested in peoples thoughts on them?
I see Bam Bam next year making a big step if he has a good pre season and why he was taken so early in the draft so i would like to see the club keep him
HH is a Luxury and with the talls at both ends settled he may feel he has better opportunities elsewhere

I think Footy Classified talked about the elephant in the room that we all suspect which is the Josh Kelly contract saga is unsettling the group.
A bunch of other guys cannot have their future settled until he makes a choice and as his management are deliberately waiting as long as they can it is causing cracks in the group.
We know this is happening, blind Freddy can see they are playing selfish me me me footy right now.
Kennedy and Himelberg confuse me, these 2 should be small contracts so to suggest Kelly is causing the hold up there just doesnt make sense to me. If they were to go they would be replaced by draftees on not much less money.
I disagree with the cause and effect there. Not that they aren't playing selfish footy, but that it's coming from the Kelly contract issue.
The three players who are directly affected by the Kelly contract who are currently playing are Kelly, Smith and Matt Kennedy. Hopper is injured and HH is coming back from an injury.
Bam Bam plays hot and cold (sorry Determinant), and yes, while I would say that it would be unsettling for him I find it hard to see his personal predicament being that big a contribution.
My thoughts are that the expectations on our guys (both from themselves and the media), combined with the lack of settled structure in the mids and forwards are urging them to back themselves first; their teammates next. For all Stevie J brings to the game, he is too slow and he's too quick to then try to pull off the unbelievable which he thinks he can still do. And he can, when the moon is in the seventh house and Jupiter aligns with Mars. If your forwards player coach is doing that, what else would you expect someone to do.
I'm surprised about Bam Bam, but wouldn't be surprised if HH is going elsewhere for more opportunities.
Dev said the hold up on his contract wasn't related to the Kelly one. More that his manager was overseas on his honeymoon. Expected it to get sorted soon after his return.I disagree with the cause and effect there. Not that they aren't playing selfish footy, but that it's coming from the Kelly contract issue.

Road to the Draft: What's the latest with Josh Kelly? - http://www.afl.com.au/draft/road-to-the-draft
Interesting radio interview with Adrian Caruso. Tagged as lits of intrtesting insights
When do we pull the trigger and put deadlines on the un-signed?
It's only a deadline so we can start to prepare offers for other players from other clubs. We have to cover our asses with contingency plans. That doesn't work in AFL, the players have most of the power and they know it. In NRL it is probably more even.
The good thing is that none of them can completely force the issue but they really can determine what we do.
Once they declare a club you are more or less rooted and have to work in with that club.
If Kelly goes I'd personally like us to keep Kennedy and Himmelberg. Kennedy is still quite maligned as he makes mistakes but his effort is always very good and I think he's a good clubman and citizen. Himmelberg has a lot of talent and is very versatile.
