Freo's current second pick is 40 unfortunately.

Ah serious.

Does anyone have their original 2nd rounder this year? or did one team play Pokemon with all the 2017 2nd rounders...gotta catch them all!:p:D

WC maybe trade for Darling or their 2nd.

Gold Coast has it, at 22.

They have 2nd rounders from 3 different clubs this year, so they did go a little Ash Ketchum, yeah...

They had about 40 2nd rounders last year too and we still couldn't pry one for Witts...FMD pies.

Pies have picks 6, 36, 54, 59, 78

Subject to change as the order of picks tends to jump around these days with clubs swapping picks back and forth. But at the moment i can't see pies using more than 3 picks in the draft.

Aside from White we have no indication just yet of how many players will be turned over and thereby how many vacancies on the senior list.

Maybe only 6 senior list vacancies in total with some of Sier, Blair, Sinclair (retire/delist), Keeffe, Oxley (trade), Schade (back to rookie list)... to go from the senior list. Unless by mutual agreement he is paid out; Mayne will stay on the list at least another year IMO.

And there's a fair chance that Thomas and Cox will be permanently elevated too, further limiting the number of open spots on the senior list.

Pies likely to trade in established players too with names like Harbrow and Trengrove mentioned.

2017 might be our smallest crop of draftees in a while.

Probably not...

Despite signing a four-year deal reported to be worth $2 million, Mayne’s future at Collingwood is shaky. Can the club afford to delist him and pay him out? Or will it persevere? The latter is far more likely, but it’s embarrassing to have a player on this type of money running around in the VFL most weeks.

Jesse White has retired, while Mason Cox’s future is unclear with a handful of rival clubs circling. Forgotten defender Ben Sinclair is out of contract but it’s understood the club will offer him a deal for 2018 as he seeks to overcome hamstring and concussion problems that have plagued his career.

I'm not in the 'we must trade in Lever' camp, although I wouldn't mind but some are saying he isn't a proven gun. He is an elite intercept marking defender.
Alex Rance is a gun as we all know. He averages 9.4 intercept possessions a game. He's also turning 28.
Our boy Howe is another star in this statistic and averages virtually the same as Hurley. 8.4 and 8.5 respectively. They are both 27.
Then it falls away a bit.
Except for one young 21 year old player who leads all comers with 9.8 intercept possessions per game this year. You guessed it, Jake Lever. Number one for average intercept possessions in the league at just 21. And he's still got improvement. No one in the top 20 plus is that young!

I reckon Faz could get us Freo's second.
Pretty sure GWS have Freos second.

Edit: will defer to MB's knowledge on this one so GC it is.

Langdon and Scharenberg are slightly older, but they're 5th and 26th in the league for average intercepts per game. We're pretty well covered for intercept defenders, young and old. If Lever had displayed some solid 1v1 ability in addition to his intercept game everyone here would be all over him, but he's been made to look pretty average a few times recently when minding a key forward.

Yeah we go alright. I personally want a kpf to help Moore.

Hopefully that's all talk about Harbrow and Trengrove. Enough with the oldies. Just not feasible at this stage as we won't be winning a flag next year or possibly the next after that. Youth MUST be the way to go.

Fogarty looks really comfortable in midfield for mine. Actually has a lot of positional scope. He'd go alright at half back or half forward. I don't see him as a traditional key forward though. The kinda guy that will pull in contested marks, sit under a ball and offer a deep get out option. He reminds me a bit of Bontempelli actually.

Westcoast's second pick is 28 currently, probably more the pick we should be looking at if he's going to head home.
Faz is worth more to us than a second round pick. He's a match winner, can play Middle and back. Only trade if he wants to go home...

Trade if he helps us get Darling. I'd love Darling and reckon he's providing a real presence at the moment.

Agreed - if it were a mini-Rance we were looking at here the everyone would be after him.

He looks more like a mini-Hurley who suffers the same fate on occasion against the #1 opposition KPF.

You also can't discount Adelaide's system - they collectively push as hard back as anyone I've ever seen so a fair bit of the time the opposition is kicking with a touch of desperation to an option which might not be there hoping that something will happen.

Fogarty best footy for mine has been as a junior. Last year that is where he spent most of his time and was strong and powerful in there. Outside of that I see him more as a defender than a key forward. That being said I havent seen as much of him forward and when I have (mainly this year) he has beem hampered by injury.

For mine think Luke Hodge type but a bigger build.

I am hopeful he stays. I think the club has been fantastic with / for him this year and it would be great for both him and club if he stays. Having said that he needs to be in a good place to do that but get the impression the players are right around him.

If he did go he is worth a pick between 20-25.

I'd take Trengrove as a free hit. Harbrow......noooooope

At least Brisbane helped us out with Frost.
