I'm predicting Collingwood take the leftover of: Rayner/LDU/Dow/Cerra/Brayshaw. Or if they all go top 5, Naughton is my prediction with Collingwood believed also to like him feeling he'll be a 200 gamer.

For some other names linked - Nathan Murphy, Jaidyn Stephenson and Darcy Fogarty are the others some have linked to Collingwood, but probably rate behind that six.
What happened to Coffield?

Why has he seemed to slip?

He came with big raps, Pendlebury like but quick, ready made for seniors etc?

So I picked up the Inside Football magazine yesterday and there was 16 page draft special with about 240 potential draftees profiled. It uses a scale similar to what fox footy uses on draft night to rate the various skills, give a draft range, the basic details and a comment from the talent manager of coach from the TAC (or interstate equivalent) coach.

As far as I have been able to find this isn't online anywhere so I have taken the liberty to start a spreadsheet and type out some of the profiles of players that we have either genuinely discussed as a prospect for pick 6 or our later selections, or who we have taken a general interest in but is not expected to be available at our first or second pick (where pick 6 is too high for them). I can add too it if I have missed a prospect someone is interested in.

The key:
5: Elite; 4.5: Excellent; 4: Above Average; 3-3.5: Competent; 2.5: Below average; 1-2: Needs to improve

Apologies for any typos, some will be mine as I had to type it out from the hard copy, and some will be theirs as I tried to type it out word for word. This was from the November 2017 issue of SEN's Inside Football (Vol.47, No. 10, Issue 1551). Apologies for the attached file. I was hoping to display it but I could't figure out how. If someone can give me some pointers I will edit it for ease of reading.

Can't speak for KM but I seem to remember Coffield generally being considered to be a 6 to 15 range player, rather than top 5, before we all jumped on board the Coffield train in the last few weeks.

Such an even draft after the likes of Rayner an LDU. I've found this particular draft fascinating.

Yeah heard it's down to Fogarty, Cerra and Brayshaw with the belief that two will be gone by Pick 6. North keen on Fog and Cerra and Freo keen on Cerra and Brayshaw.

Seems like it could be anyone. Two weeks ago it was definitely Coffield or Bonar, last week Naughton and this week the sliding mid. Very exciting to see which way they go.
Love your work btw.

Thanks Babylove I've taken screenshots for those that can't or don't want to download it...
Edit: Taking a leaf out of Mkcaptain's book I've done the spoilers so as to not fill the page.

Our potential ability to land Lynch might dictate our thinking on Fogarty. If we’re in on Lynch and consider ourselves a real chance of landing him it would make Fogarty the smart move for me because he would compliment Lynch well as a forward, but he also has the flexibility to do it down back or through the middle.
Spoke to someone during my the week who works with the coaches and players on a regular basis at the club. He said that the feeling is pretty positive that we’ll land Lynch next year and will also have a crack at Sloane.
Look for Pendles to be training with the backline this pre-season.

Coffield probably goes top 10 (Saints and Dogs both considering) but Collingwood I haven't heard connected to Coffield. I've only heard some bigfooty posters talk about Coffield as someone they would like to see the Pies draft.

Coffield isn't Pendlebury. He's evasive, skilled and quicker than Pendles. He's probably more a back flanker with his contested stuff and production through the mids a questionmark.

If Collingwood want someone more like Pendlebury. Adam Cerra is the guy (if he slides to 6). He's a big time contested baller with the production, class, skill and impact.

What Tyler said as I am NOT paying to Read Herald Sun Stories

Tyler Brown’s pre-season experience with Collingwood inspiration for father-son hopeful

IT didn’t take Tyler Brown long to find out life in the black and white is a serious business.

The teenage son-of-a-gun got a rare insight into the world of a professional footballer when he spent a week training with Collingwood during the pre-season earlier this year.

Arriving bright and early on his first day, Brown was shocked to see that at 7am, before they were even required to be at the club, multiple players were shivering in the ice-baths.

FAMOUS NAME: BROWN’S BLACK AND WHITE AFL HOPES

YOUNG GUNS: HIGGINS NO.1 IN CHAMPION DATA’S TOP 30

FATHER-SON: TIGERS, MAGPIES CONFIRM SONS OF GUNS

It was at that moment he knew the sacrifices he would have to make to get to the top. And since then, Brown has met every challenge head on.

Following his stint at the Magpies, Brown has improved at warp speed through his final year of junior football.

This time last year he wasn’t even in the TAC Cup system.

Now he is right on the radars of Collingwood and multiple other clubs as the draft approaches.

“I think it (getting into the TAC Cup system later) can definitely be an advantage,” Brown told the Herald Sun.

“I’ve always really liked to enjoy my footy and everything but I think this year was really the right time to focus and be serious and really try and push to see where I can get.”

If Brown needed a mid-season boost of motivation, it came in the form of his older brother Callum’s AFL debut.

After being selected under the father-son rule with the 35th pick in last year’s draft, Callum’s first game came in front of 70,000 screaming Collingwood and Melbourne fans on Queen’s Birthday.

The entire Brown family was down in the rooms to see Callum presented with his jumper before the match, but it was another moment that left a lasting impression on Tyler.

“It was pretty cool seeing him get his first touch and hearing the crowd get really excited for him. That made me really excited as well.”

Brown has been lucky enough to have multiple sounding boards available to him during his draft year.

As well as the coaches at the Eastern Ranges, who he credits for rapidly getting him up to speed for TAC Cup football, he has bounced ideas off his brother and famous Collingwood father, Gavin.

“Cal’s said to me to really just enjoy the year. It is only going to happen once so just enjoy it and try and get the most out of it.

“He (Gavin) has helped me improve my game over the year and has been a really big help. It’s been a great year.”

Brown started the TAC Cup season playing as a forward but a late season move into the midfield allowed him to take his game to another level.

He is taller than Callum and has some serious x-factor around the goals and in traffic.

In late October, Collingwood officially nominated Brown as a potential father-son selection.

The Magpies would be hoping to snap him up with a late draft pick but may have to decide if they will match an early bid from a rival club.

Brown’s TAC Cup coach, former Bomber Darren Bewick, has urged the Pies to do whatever it takes to get the potential father-son to the club.

I've put the article in spoilers so it doesn't take up too much space on the page

I’m pretty ok with all of them but the Fog for me is the only one who has potential to be the next Brownlow medal winning league dominating traits. Maybe Cerra too if there.

There is a kid named Bonar who could end up being a fair player.

I think that plays into our hands with pick 6... the clearer it is the less chance of real quality falling so in this case confusion is our friend :thumbsu:

Some of those bigger forwards are hard to gauge. I go back to Matthew Panos who was discussed back in his draft year like Brander, Fogarty etc. Was a top 10 pick in all the mock drafts. Went undrafted. There is always one or two. I wonder who it will be this year?

Way to make me feel old, Pedro :( ;)

What are your thoughts on Brayshaw Pie 4 Life? What does be add that we don't already have? What need does he address?
Tapatalk isn't doing a great job with tags so didn't get this until I scrolled back.

Brayshaw has one thing that everyone can agree on - he will be a 200-game player. The reason I'd pick him at #6 is not so much his own traits, but what he offers to a team. You know he's a future captain, can play anywhere if required and just goes in and gets the job done. The gap between his best and worst games is not huge, so he has great consistency. He's a huge endurance beast, and one of those blokes that when you look down the list ticks most of the boxes. More importantly, he has those acts of courage that make his teammates stand taller and lead by example. Not the same talent nor player, but he reminds me a little of Michael Voss in the way he just wills himself to each contest and attacks it fiercely.

His knock is that he has very few offensive weapons, or "X-factor", and while he might not be that get everyone wet player, he's the type that you'll walk home from a game and go "Another great game" or "Just does everything right that kid". He's not going to be the kid that boots five goals in a last quarter to win the game off his own boot. He will be the bloke that somehow wins the ball against two opponents and uses every bit of energy left in his body to kick it forward to a teammate to kick the winning goal. He won't be remembered for game performance as such, more little moments that can change a game in his own way. Maybe not directly, but certainly indirectly by an action.

I have him ranked at #7 on my rankings, but if we're not going to pick Coffield or Stephenson, he moves up a couple of spots, and I'd take Cerra ahead for the extra class, but I'd be very happy with Brayshaw because of his discipline and leadership. Think Taylor Adams' standards if Adams could kick and was an endurance beast.

Well` SOOOOOORY I can't remember everything that everybody has Typed.

Thanks for the Answer though.

So Pie 4 Life that with Fog not playing well with Injuries well should see him be a Massive Faller in the Draft?
I don't think he will fall that far in the draft. North are considering him at #4, which honestly I hope they pick him because it gives us more options. At our pick he's about right, maybe a couple of picks lower, at North's pick he's a bit early.

He was great as a bottom-ager but yeah this year has turned me off shocking. It was the same with Brander, last year I was thinking "bloody hell hope we get this Brander kid, but we'll never finish bottom two" now he's easily available and I'm not the fazed with him. A lot changes in 12 months.

Stephenson is set to be the big slider. Brander I said would slide probably a few weeks ago and it's appearing so, but the whole heart condition issue with Stephenson is making clubs very wary. Hence why some now are removing him from their top 10 predictions.

Still have no idea who I want us to draft. Hell, I still have no idea who I don't want us to draft.

Yeah I've changed my mind so many time.

I think I'd still go Fogarty at 6 (regardless of whether one of the top 5 mids fall to our pick), and then look to draft the best Key Defender at 38. I think that solves structural problems at both ends of the ground. That would be my preference.

My gut feel however is that we'll go Naughton at 6 and probably another key defender at 38. Hine historically over-compensates when he drafts for needs. (ie drafts multiple players in the one position to resolve that area). It happened in the Pendlebury draft when we needed mids, and then in the Reid draft when we needed key talls.

I'd be fairly happy with this strategy as we are devoid for young talls on the list apart from McLarty and Moore.

I don't think we need to draft another mid, regardless of if they are the best available at our pick. But if it happens, then I won't be upset either because we need more class. I just reckon De Goey and Maynard are going to take the midfield by storm this year, which adds even more depth in that area.
