I think it's more ignorance.Nah, you just need to listen differently. When they start discounting us, we can't win, we're overrated, we're easy to beat, we can't win in Victoria and we're lucky to win by 84 points against the side currently fifth ... it's not disrespect.
It's fear.
If I had the time or the patience, I'd love to go back and record every time one of these experts made a call on a team that "could win it" or "won't win it" or "is struggling" or "has turned the corner" etc...
David King is the best at it. He makes every prediction you could think of ... knowing he can go back to whichever one pans out.
At the moment he is big on WB winning it again, and that they are timing their run. Watch it change when they get beaten tonight ... He also said they would slide in 2016. Genius.
Here he is jumping on Melbourne when they were up.
There are so many examples of this bulldust - for instance Wallace saying Adelaide are too attacking to win the premiership.
I like the analysis of the games AFTER the fact, but this prediction thing that has become part of the media cycle in AFL pisses me off no end. They do it before the season, during the season, before games, during games ... it's pathetic.
When will someone just call the game? Not tell us what they think will happen - or that the next goal wins it etc... Wouldn't that be a pleasant change.
