Respectfully, I can't see us trading two top ten picks for Gaff. I think we would've only done that for Josh Kelly.

Depends where you think you'll finish next season.

Kelly would have required a pick before 3 + another.

How would you guys feel about our future first being involved with a trade for Gaff?

I would not be at all interested in something that didn't help us immediately, so either 7 or 8 this year plus something else would IMO be required.

It would be counter productive for us to give you an A grade player that would help you rise up the ladder diminishing your future firsts value .

Going by the pick values that would put Gaff at somewhere between pick 6 and 7, and Mountford. Yeah, I'd do that. I don't think North would though.

I think at pick 13 we will have a couple of genuine midfielders of class to get. By 21, more flankers come mids.

After mulling it over I think it probably needs something else going back North's way for them to say yes, particularly if Mountford is involved.
Agree that the pick 8 for Gaff is probably the ideal trade but there's rumours that the Saints are trying to use them to move up to pick 2. This give us a higher chance at a gun and also give us a couple of 2nd rounders to play with. I'd be much happier taking Kelly with a 2nd if we have 2 of them.

Not a surprise. Not as if a 3rd tall up front is a shortage for us. Had talent but body was not able to cope with the rigours of a AFL

Very similar to us getting Redden and Jetta in 2015.

With them going hard at Rockcliff i bet we can get Brendan achee for free...

So that means we currently have 35 senior players (with decisions to come on Wellingham and Hill) and 3 Rookie List players (with all 3 remaining players being out of contract).
We must have a list of 44 (38-40 seniors + 4-6 rookies) so unless we land a couple of free agents we'll likely be looking at a minimum of 6 draftees this year, although Watson is likely to be elevated to the Cat A rookie list.
