Is Hunter Clark an actual mid though? i see he is listed HBF/Mid?

Simple answer is YES he is a genuine mid.
He is a very versatile player that can also hold down a forward or back flank or play damaging football off a wing.

He emphatically demonstrated in the second half of the TAC Cup season that he is a quality inside/outside mid that kicks goals.
This kid has so many + points of difference over the run of the mill midfield draft prospect that it's not funny.

I'd take Clark every day of the week, and not just because of his headband.

Versatile, quick, x factor, inside/outside, cleans his room, but most importantly... Has a hunger for the contest and actually wants to win :handfist:

Redden finally becomes the midfielder we want and we have posters wanting to replace him with a fringe player because why?

Come on Pants get with the program ...... because it's Big Footy ..... thats why....it's what we do. ;)

Well I don't like it. If the umpires were fair this season Redden would have won the Brownlow amassing 60 votes.

This........so much this..... he is a footballer's footballer and is as tough as they come that will always give you a contest.

Players who can win their own football in close in the heat of the battle and are also damaging on the outside are scarcer than than rocking horse shit.

Tough mether-focker but not school captain material so not sure we would be seeing the long the benefit!!!

Ah Chee talk has me thinking Karpany for Ah Chee is a pretty even deal. Karpany is a half forward not making it as a midfielder and Ah Chee is a midfielder not making it as a half forward. Karpanay and Ah Chee both get to go home!
After a few years of being the most pathetic player in the Wafl Karpany became average . Somehow stayed on our list . Our list has been Krap for a while
Dermott reckons Karpany kicks the ball and it sounds nice. He knows his stuff. That was his career accolade so far .
Havent seen much of AH Chee but to almost win the SANFL Sandover says he is better Than Karps .

Makes him sound like the complete package. Is he a realistic chance to last to 13, and if so, why isn't he projected to go earlier?

Looking at draftees is not my strength, but Hunter Clark has been mentioned around our pick a bit. Having read a few bios on him in the phantom drafts etc, he looks like he should be a target.

Bond was a tad vague and dismissive in the Eagles inerest in Clark. If he is available at 13 I think we wouldnt hesitate and pick him.

Even if we got pick 8 I think the club would swoop.

Rather than hear some more adulation on Clark from me read Cal Twomey's latest September Phantom Form Guide on the AFL website.
Look where he projects his range to be and more importantly read the bio, that will help clarify things for you.

Clark may well be gone by 13 but I suspect he will still be there.

But I like reading your adulations :'(

To short at 191cms ....Unless he has grown by the time the combines come around.
It will be interesting. He was a guest on AFL 360 at the U18 carnival. His carnival registered height was 191 cm but he said he was already 193 and expecting to go another couple of cm. That would make him 195 cm so a genuine KPF. In the games I saw him play, he does not look the power forward type but that may be not being in tune with what his body can do. If he is only going to be 2nd or 3rd tall, then we do not need him.

How is Simpson going to play it in 2018 with JK a lock in, Darling a most certain starter, Vardy able to play power forward and chop out for NN or Lycett as second ruckman resting forward.

Underneath at the 190 plus range we have Allen, Waterman, McInness and Lamb.

Now lets stop this talk on first round for forwards and get back to fixing our midfield.
