Higher upside than Matera and Fasolo and will probably be cheaper than the latter.

Fasolo is a better than average player and could be much better with us, could be worse of course as well. I am not interested in cheap I am interested in best players we can get. Just my view but Fasolo has far more upside than Ryan and is a better footballer.

With Fremantle wanting to get the deal for Wilson over the line i think we might sneak in Matera which to me is a wayyyyyy better option than Fas.

Matera is an actual crumbing forward who along with Rioli could form a good forward line along with Jk & Darling. But this all depends on the cost though... Is he out of contract?

Why is it one or the other?

Couldn't we have both Fas and Matera?
We could use both their skill sets.
Both should be available for late picks or a surplus player.

Ryan has lots of potential. You don't kick 70+ goals in a WAFL season without some substance. If he gets his fitness levels up he could be the small forward we haven't had all these years

He could also be another Trent Dennis-Lane...

Fasolo's contracted and so far given no indication he wants out, plus it's Collingwood.

Matera is out of contract (I think), wants to come home and GC want him gone from all reports.

Fair enough. But what if the asking price is our second rounder? Knowing Collingwood and the fact that he is contracted, I fear that will be their starting point.

If they are available for late picks, sure, but I'm not sure how cheap they'll be and we don't need forwards so much that we should be giving up reasonable picks for two of them.

Ryan is a high leaping 184cm forward. Don't think he counts as a small forward!

He and Rioli would be an awesome duo if they fulfil their potential.

This alone is a good enough reason not to go for him.

If a basket case club like GC don't want you, then you probably don't deserve to be on a list

Would GWS have any issues with dealing with Freo from the McCarthy affair. I can't remember exactly how it went down but were Freo being Mitch Clark difficult to deal with?

It might well be the starting point but one only has to look at what you would get for a second round pick, the chances are you will get another Fasolo type anyway and to be honest probably won't even be that. Just a lottery the draft.

Lets wait to see if he is available, also remember running around with Kennedy and Darling is different to the average forward line Collingwood has. He is a pretty smart player and could excel with us?

Career Averages - Goals, Tackles and Goal Assists. Pretty important stats for a small forward.

Compared ours to the mentioned duo as well as rioli and betts who are two of the most dangerous going around. Green if in the top two of each category, red if bottom 2 (only from this limited selection)

Matera is out of contract. The Suns wanted to trade him last year but it didn't get done for whatever reason and his contract meant staying at the Suns.

For what it's worth, I hate it when an average player has their best season in a contract year. If we sign him up, can we trust him to play like he did in 2017?

I just ran the Facebook poster idea past my wife about Priddis coming out of retirement and building a midfield around him . This was a Litmus test to just see if my wife really does know anything because she agrees with me about everything which makes me think she is semi AFL smart . Anyway she said " I think thats a good idea darling ".
I did the same with mine who is a purples fan (she's cousins with two former players), the response:
"You kept saying he's slow and crap this season. Why would you want to do that?"

At least she listens to me ranting, even if she doesn't form her own opinion.

You'd be better off comparing the last 2-4 seasons. The blokes with longer careers have history which distorts recent form.

Hasn't even kicked off yet and this trade period has already given me an aneurysm :):gun:

I'd still start the trade period in the middle over Redden though.

Have a good sleep.

We will wake you up after the trade period is done and dusted.

After which having been informed of what Vosso and Co have done then you can then go looking for them to inflict the appropriate retribution.
