The bloke has come off a massively interrupted pre-season, and was close to cracking an AFL game before getting injured again. Probably should let him get a full pre-season under his belt before we assume he won't crack it in our midfield. Give the guy a chance for god's sake!

Where did I say he was a write off?? Reading comprehension mate, try it. I said he hasn't even proven he's a WAFL mid, yet people are bring him up as an answer. Sure, he may become an answer, but he's injury prone hand has been played as a HFF, so he's unlikely to be an answer for at least a couple of years if he ever gets there.

Again, our aim should be to develop these guys into mids, not give up and leave them as HBF's and HOPE the guys we draft are ready made mids...

Is patrick cripps any chance of coming here? Would trade 2 first rd picks easy

Contracted with Carlton to the end of 2019, and touted as a future captain. So very little chance if any.

Glen Jakovich was a forward as a junior, Sumich was a back, Worsfold was a mid...
Duggan showed more as a mid in year 1 than now, Yeo has shown he can do well in the midfield (in short bursts). I'm sure we were very short of mids when Woosha started...

Yeo's shown he can do well in the midfield in short bursts, he was used there in short bursts this season ... I'm not seeing where the problem is?

Keep the development going. He can be a good mid. Don't settle for a majority HBF. Develop him as a mid and a forward too. I'm arguing against the sentiment that it's ok for Yeo and Duggan to remain HBF's. IMHO that's just not good enough.

Those saying wilson is just surplus for us are delusional. He would be in the top 2 or 3 picked for our defence. You make room for top talent and the others fit around him. Duggan plays midfield next year, along with yeo. Hurns not getting any younger. Nelson and cole will be looking to push a little bit through the mid next year also. We could really do with wilson hes the best kick in the comp and can open the game right up.

We have more pressing needs. Our defence is solid atm.

Man, Yeo is 25 next year when do stop developing a player and let him become elite in one position... which he already is in the position you want to move him from

Man, our midfield sux. He can be better and help fix that.

Semantics, but he's 25 in October 2018, so 24 for the entire 2018 AFL season.

He's played games in the midfield (eg. Geelong and Freo this year) that no one else on our list are capable of. I personally think hes worth persisting with in there.

Give him a full preseason solely training as a mid. NN back, Yeo full-time in the middle if it comes off is a risk well worth taking imo

But then who will we play on the half back flank???

I used to wank over the idea, i now can't even get a semi

Ryan is a high leaping 184cm forward. Don't think he counts as a small forward!

He and Rioli would be an awesome duo if they fulfil their potential.
Pretty much the same height as Mark LeCras, but he would weigh the same amount as a small forward!
I'm thinking he could impact a bit like Liam Jurrah,
