Im the same .
I cant see him going but hearing 700k on table from hawks . With currently White , Rice , Mckenzie, Phillips ect... all waiting opportunity i think we can cover a running half back .
Robbo is a hell of alot more than that.

Look at when Milne retired and we all said "Well we have Saad and TDL and Milera and Saunders and Minchington. Forward pocket's are a dime a dozen anyway."

I would hope we can keep him for unders but if 700k is the number being thrown up by the Hawks (and maybe the Dons, Woosha has said they want a big bodied half back to replace Kelly and Goddard long term) then get it done. Let the footy world know that if you play for the Saints and perform that we will do the right thing by you as well.

?????????????????????
Sav will be 27 next year, and has said himself that he hasn't had a great year. Now competing with the likes of Roberton Webster White McKenzie Rice Newnes etc for a spot in our backline leaves him with not many other options. Much of whom are all younger than he is.

What are you hearing re our trading and all that Gav?
I haven't heard anything in relation to saints getting lever, just trying to be funny.
But if The saints feel that they can nab Lever who would play a similar role to roberton they would be silly to pay roberton with guys in the vfl waiting for a chance also. Lever is younger and potentially better than roberton.
He and Kelly would be my top 2 targets.

Certainly fits with MG's view that we would trade out 2 best 25 players one player driven and one club driven, just wondered if you had something concrete.

Here is a list of players drafted from the west of melbourne who are gettable and drafted from 2012-onward:
Wood
Hunter
Atkins
Gardiner
Sicily (possibly OOC)
C. Ellis
Laverde
Lever (OOC)
Mathieson
Parish (OOC)
Tucker (OOC)

From that I think we can conclude we are after one of Tucker or Lever, with Lever the one who is higher rated. Corey Ellis and Darcy Parish also went mid-early first round in 2015; Ellis not able to crack into the Richmond side regularly despite strong VFL form.

Pay Billings and Sinclair whatever they want. Genuine ELITE stars that are still somehow sliding under the radar at the moment.

Robbo may be forced to leave simply because the first name Dylan doesn't fit the St Kilda football clubs culture. Change your name to Jack Roberton and then we can negotiate.

I really like Roberton. We don't have too many 3rd talls at either in of the ground. So I'd be be offering more than what the club is willing. Gilbert can't keep playing forever. If was to go, what would we get for him in terms of draft pick value?

The saints have the lever age. With Roberton negotiations because there are replacements.

But seriously with the backline depth why would they overpay roberton? Maybe go a little higher.
Who's our Roberton replacement?

He's a pretty unique player and would be a massive loss.

Things can always change, so I don't think anything is concrete until there's pen to paper, but Sav hasn't re-signed yet and is OOC at the end of the year. For a fringe best 22 it doesn't look great this deep into the season.

Hickey obviously not getting much of a look in at senior level, and despite the fact that I believe he'll come in on Friday night to give Longer a spell, we can't continue with two legitimate rucks on our list. Holmes will be delisted, and we'll run with Longer & Pierce in 2018 IMO. Longer's shown he can handle the ruck responsibilities on his own with a bit of pinch hitting from Gilbo and Bruce when required.

I'm more interested in getting Roberton and Sinclair re-signed as those two are the most important to us in moving forward in terms of this years OOC list. Riewoldt Gilbert Montagna will either retire or stay with the club, Billings' deal is done, and it would be nice (but not priority right now) to sign Lonie and Rice at some stage.

If Hawthorn are in fact offering him $700K PA he'd be worth a fair bit and given that they don't have a pick this year that's worth a damn, and their 2nd next year is no-where near enough, they'd potentially have to either include their 2018 first in some capacity, or someone pretty good off their list (which would largely defeat the purpose of getting in someone like Robbo).

So logic would suggest that maybe it would be Robbo and change for their 2018 first. Which would have the potential to work out exceptionally well for us again!

He's in the team now and put in a very good performance on the weekend, let's see how he goes for the rest of the season before we call the curtains on him.

A guy I know who has a few contacts told me last year that Rocky was promised to be taken by the Hawks as a FA at the end of this year. Things might have changed now at the Hawks or it could have been bullshit though.
Hawks are no longer at the stage where they should be taking a Rockliff tbh. They should be looking to get back into either this year or next year's draft ideally.
