Always a balancing act between development and players earning a spot.Definitely. I am not really a fan of debuts before round 5-ish anyway. Of course there can be exceptions, but you want to be confident a player is going to have a good debut. I also like debuts to be earned, so happy to see players held back a bit.
For me, play the extremely talented kids as much as possible and the others need to break down the door. If the talented kids are not working hard, then by all means don't play them. If the talent and effort are their play them.
I would play Cerra and Brayshaw in front of players that are not in our best 15 eg Spurr, Ballantyne, Sutcliffe, Sheridan etc.
Players start making a solid contribution between 30 and 50 games. If we can get 15-20 games into Brayshaw and Cerra and do it for three years, their fourth year will be very exciting.
