Reading pre now and some guy who has mail (taztiger new to site so not sure how good he is with it usually) we will not take stocker at the draft we think he has no tank we have someone else in mind and want Ely smith with our second pick

Shit so many back and forwards hard to know what’s legit or what’s bullshit

Reading around lots claiming info

Some stocker is our guy if he ain’t there we trade 17 for two picks and use one on McHenry

Another guy we don’t want stocker and hope Ely smith lasts until 37

Then you have afl site saying we’re Into
Stocker/hill/McHenry/duursma

This time a year is a head ****
Shit let’s meet in the middle trade 17 for 2 picks
Draft 3 of
O’halloran/duursma/McHenry/Eli smith

And if we do trade our 1st rnd pick.
We won't know who we're getting until the Friday.:moustache:

Just thinking about some of our trade options in terms of picks. I don't mind going further back but not too far further back because I think other clubs are not that stupid. I do not want us to cut our nose off despite our face by over playing a scenario and missing out who we really ideally want

I think Adelaide are keen to try and get better picks to pri something from Gold Coast.

How about this? We trade pick 17 for Adelaides pick 21 at the point where we get to pick 17 (so depending on who's available). We also get second round in 2019 future swaps so Richmond gets Adelaides 2019 second and we give Adelaide our 2019 future second round to offset us going back 17 to 21. 21 may not be too far back we do not get a really good player we want but we will know more at 17 (or the equivalent after matchings). Adelaide might then want to swap 17 for Gold Coasts 24 and 29 as part of getting higher up in the top ten. Alternatively we could, if it suits us decide to trade our 2019 1st round for GWS pick 19 and 25 or other picks. If we could pull that off we would have picks 19, 21 and 25. What do people think? We could even do the 2019 1st trade first to get picks 19 and 25 and pass the 21 on to GWS if it suited them with us obviously something back substantial for giving up 21 if they did not want to get out of that area in the 2018 draft totally. Certainly gives us some options anyway of other parties are looking to modify their position on the run. So instead of having a 2019 1st and pick 17 we maybe end up with 19, 25 plus other pick(s). If Adelaide want to get involved in a deal with GC maybe end of it with end up with 19, 24, 25 and extras as part of a multi club trade for picks at the point 17 comes around

Friggin erks me that statement.Charmed run with injury?
Been the undertone all this year and looks like it will continue unless a Cotch or a Dusty go down for long periods.
Yeah we had a real charmed run heading into finals. Dusty looked super fit in the PF. As did Cotch, Prestia, Lambert and Astbury.

Unless your leg snaps off like big names Dunn,Moore etc then its not classified as injured.

Facts are facts we have had a charmed run with injuries not just this yr but the last 4 or more.

Last two seasons our best 5 players have played a possible
Martin 48 of 49 games
Cotchin 47 of 49
Rance 49 of49
Riewoldt 47 of 49
Prestia 38 of 49. we have been kissed on the dick when it comes to injuries.

throw in important players like
Grimes 48 of 49
Astbury 47 of 49
Nankervis 47 of 49
Grigg 47 of 49
Lambert 46 of 49
Edwards 44 of 49
Vlastuin 37 of 49
Caddy 44 of 49

We just have not had any serious injuries to our key group of players bar two over the last 2 yrs.Yep charmed run with injury sums it up to a tee.

Well ely wont be lasting until 37 so we better trade that pick up if we want him

I just don't get how the live pick trading will work.
People are assuming when we get to pick 17, we can instead trade it for 2 picks in the 20s.
I imagine it more like us getting to our first pick, realising there are a few players still on the board we would be happy with, offering our pick for trade and getting an offer of about pick 30 and a **** all offer to upgrade one of our 3rd round picks.

Matt Blamer has been on us liking McHenry for a long time now. Must be him. McHenry and Smith this year with hopefully Hopper next year would be awesome.

I want picks #24 & #29

#24 will be a 200 game player that gas size speed and agility he is a very good over head mark and a fantastic work effort
#29 is very similar to #24 just a little bigger
Just looking at Draft pts, 17 & 37 is similar on pts to Dees 23 & 28, those 2 for GCS 24 & 29 leaves us 70pts short (would still do that IMO). Seems to do a trade 37 would have to go as well, if we offered next yrs 1st then i not sure how that goes with pts.

Is it possible that we can discuss drafting a player for another club?

I.e. Club Y wants player X but they don't have an early enough pick.

So we say to them, we'll select player X for you, then we trade for picks.

I know that's the whole purpose of live trading but is this considered draft tampering if it's planned in advance?

You probably couldn't prove it one way or another so I could've just answered my own stupid question.
Live trading in the U.S apparently has this ability but ours is just picks this yr, give it a yr or 2 & the media will start to push this agenda to further Americanise the game.

Duursma any good?

I've read comparisons to Dyson Heppell and it seems pretty accurate from the vision thats around.

Would have to think he's got more of a backbone than Dyson the jellyfish though.

DRAFT NEEDS
The Tigers made great use of their first pick last season, landing lively forward Jack Higgins at pick 17.

The club have exactly the same selection this time around but they won't use it on a small forward, with a midfielder the more likely target, having used their first selection in four of the past five national drafts to land Higgins, Shai Bolton, Dan Rioli and Ben Lennon.

Hard-at-it midfielder Liam Stocker would be a good selection and become the second consecutive Morrish Medal winner picked by the Tigers at 17 if they went down that track.

Stocker would be a safe pick and add depth to the Tigers' inside game where he could learn off some of the best in the business, while Riley Collier-Dawkins would be a good choice if still available.

He showed his class with the Oakleigh Chargers in the finals, while Ian Hill would be a speculative selection with the creative, skilful midfielder likely to need some time to flourish.

It's also time for the Tigers to build some depth among the tall defenders with Alex Rance and David Astbury's resilience in recent seasons buying the Tigers some time.

Western Australia's Damon Greaves could be tempting at pick 37, although the Tigers might dive in even later to get a back to develop such as Gippsland Power's Kyle Reid or the Eastern Ranges' James Blanck.

Richmond have also committed to picking up premiership forward Jacob Townsend as a rookie after he was delisted last month.

Oh ok.

So right now the live trade happens before the selection is used - Makes sense.

I guess that means when our pick is up, we need to hope a club(s) comes knocking, otherwise it's play on.

Why do points matter?
