2018 Rate My Team (Post JLT)

Ive got 200k spare. Any advice on where to spend it? Its not enough to upgrade a mid rookie and I don't really want a premium at F5. I guess i could keep it as a danger fund but I dont like having 200k sitting there

So i decided to put together a team with a cookie-cutter structure but with different premiums to the norm. Im hoping to show that you can still select a good team without following the group think. As such ive left out Laird/Hibberd/Savage/Sicily/Fyfe/Heeney/Billings etc

People expecting a breakout year. Fitter, more midfield minutes, a bit of a bull. Also as pick 2 out to show that he is better than McCartin!

Personally if you are intent on spending the $200k I would flick Naughton for Brayshaw of the Melbourne variety.

Never averaged over 101 and nearly 28yo. What makes you think he would average better than that this year? Most players reach their scoring potential at 22. He's 6 years past that.

Going to stick with this until teams released. 4.4K left. Happy with the structure, and will downgrade Kelly to another Mid as a cashgrab if required.
Going very deep in the mids, but have the cash with no Danger, and I don't trust any of the expensive forwards.

If you MUST have Bell (must be related to him) ......PLEASE not at D4 !

My Danger plans:

• Scenario 1: if he is named, pick him
• Scenario 2: if he is isn't but it seems highly likely he will play in round 2), then loophole Martin and Banfield, and pick him anyway if they do well. If Banfield/Martin don't do well, then I'd probably go with no Danger and bring in Mitchell.
• Scenario 3: he is a late out, and martin/banfield dont do well, then pick oliver
  
• Scenario 4: if there is a decent chance he will miss round 2 then don't pick him, and plan to get him round 5ish.

Loophole plans:

• maybe use danger under scenario 2-3
• pick darcy cameron even if he isn't named
• probably go with 30 in round one otherwise

Get rid of Bell .....put Sicily down at F5 ....shift Keefe to DEF .....get another D3 (Savage, Lloyd ect) .....that'll be great then

got $126k left over. got a couple backups in mind for round 1 omissions for the rookies, fairly happy with the premos. was toying around with the backline a bit tonight, but hopefully i'll leave it like this until the teams are announced (probs not haha).

Don't think Cameron will get consistent enough games to be useful coverage. Went for a Ruck/FWD with DPP, and will trade in Cox at some stage as ruck cover. Will be the best option imo for floating cover at F7/R3.

TOO MUCH money sitting on your bench ......not SC good enough to play on-field IMO

It;s a really good side, until i got to the FWD's .....having 3 rookies on-field will bring you undone, just not strong or consistent enough

You need to bat down, at a minimum, to F4

I'd downgrade shaw and trade in an F4 and only go with 1 of Armitage/Coniglio
