I don't agree that a key defender isn't a high resource position, we wouldn't have so many clubs continuing to pay overs to lure our key defenders if that was the case, IMO, take that for what it's worth, usually not much.

I don't think so many clubs continued to pay over for them. Melbourne paid overs- but thought they were getting an elite key defender to top off a list that could contend- they were looking to pay low end first compensation. The Bulldogs paid unders.

But isnt the fact that we can produce a great looking third tall every year a pretty clear sign that it doesnt require massive resourcing?
