I'm certain most players haven't.
I do however wish coaches would hit them with a stick, once in a while.

If the umps don't pay it, why coach your team to be at a disadvantage?

Imagine if you were the only team playing the rules of incorrect disposal and everyone else was 'having the ball lost to advantage' ... you could feel morally superior but you will still lose the games.

Fine in theory, but a real slippery slope that is turning the game to s**t.
This is the same theory used to create stoppage after stoppage and the congestion that goes with it.

Some commentators blame coaches for the congestion, and while agree with your premise that the umpires are ultimately to blame (under instruction from the AFL), the responsibility should be shared.
Coaches/clubs are entitled to seek clarification, every week, as to why something is not penalised. Pressure should be applied from every corner of the game to uphold the rules and integrity of the game. I find it incredibly cynical, that players actually train to break the rules. This is how we end up with half arsed pea brained ideas like ruck nominations, starting positions and extra long goal squares. New rules to fix problems that wouldn't have been problems if the rules were applied in the first place.
When Archie does get pinged, contest after contest, we'll have nobody to blame.

Final point; It's not quite true to say that holding isn't paid. It gets missed a hell of a lot, but you just know we get pinged when taking a mark inside 50, or having just won a clearance. There should be no excuse for giving away basic free kicks. It's just dumb football, that can ultimately lose games.

Probably an overreaction to a single photo, but you know, once I'm on a roll...
He does do it a lot though.

I disagree. It is actually still able to win, without throwing the ball away. The cheatiest team doesn't always win.

What if they make Ruck contests like a centre bounce. Where they can have a run and jump at the ball. Get rid of the wrestle all together.

The Ruckman cannot make contact with the opposing player until the ball has left the central or boundary umpires hands. They are supposed to keep one metre separation prior to that. That rule was introduced to stop wrestling and holding and has largely worked. The Nomination bit is a crock. No idea where that came from. Should just be one player only allowed for each team.

In the centre, and ball ups, the ball goes straight up and the 2 opponents face each other running toward goal. Can't do that at a throw in, and probably unfair to clear too big a space or numbers at a ball up.
They should be pinged as soon as an arm goes around.

Media dept. killing it!

HA gave I think Zorks a good don't argue there too! Wonder if that's intentional practice for a move we are looking to use more in games...

Don't get how 'don't argues' are allowed when it's intentional contact to the head as opposed to the chest or neck
They aren't, generally. Players give away free kicks for high fends if it's high contact.

If they're done properly then it's an open hand into the sternum, which is not high contact.

Dusty on the other hand, was a high flyer for the Brownlow, and the AFL protects its hype trains.

No congestion was "invented" by a fremantle coach called gerad neesham in the late 90s he had an indepth understanding of basketball tactics. rather than everyone go to a contest only one goes in and the rest of the players stay outside and close down space. but he had trouble applying it, paul roos and later mick malthouse perfected it and that's why their is no space around ball carriers to spread and run this heavily contributes to the congestion.
Also closing down space slows down ball movement allowing teams to set up the closing down space tactic on the fly easier, in other word congestion breeds congestion.

That maybe so, but congestion in the modern context, and why/how it is an issue is more specific to the pile on at stoppages, as opposed to the flooding we saw with Roos. This results in multiple stoppages, when a free kick could easily be found and the area cleared.
