I doubt they will give them a 5 day break that wouldn't be fair on them. Even if they do have 2 thursday games thats bs they shouldnt even have 1
Well they get the season opener whether we like it or not so they will always have one. And Carlton were one of the most exciting teams to watch in the back half of the season. Teague has them playing a completely different gameplan.

Because they are dumb who don't think about things like this.

In 2019 we were away in round 1 and pies were home on the friday night, guess what happens in round 2.

2017, tigers away thursday and pies home friday, guess what happens in round 2.

AFL have got a little obsession about Richmond starting with blues-pies every damn year, will be 4 out of last 5 years ( 2016,2017,2019 and will be 2020 ) and before that was 2012.

Will also be the 4th straight year Richmond has started a season with the thursday double and i like a lot of tiger fans are sick of it.

Round 2 will be:

Collingwood v Richmond ( mcg )
Sydney v Essendon ( scg )
Fremantle v ? (optus )
Carlton v ? ( marvel )
Geelong v ? ( gmhba )
Port Adelaide v ? ( ade oval )
St Kilda v ? ( marvel )
Brisbane v North Melb ( gabba )
Melbourne v ? ( mcg )

Rest of away teams are: gws, ade, wce, haw, gc, wbull

Twice in last 12 seasons Coll have not had 1 home and 1 away game for first 2 games of the year. 1 year it was 2 home games, another 2 away games to start the season.

But when you say "away" is that just how the teams are listed, or do you mean actually playing a game 'away' from the MCG i.e. your home ground?

The former.

It’s not something that happens all the time but it does occasionally.

Let's look at Round 1 fizzers..

Fremantle, Gold Coast will likely get sent to the cleaners. With Melbourne and Carlton being the Unknowns...

I guess we’ll just take the gate receipts then.

Ticketing is the only aspect which is somehow different. You are at the same ground you play your home games.

I don't consider our 'away' derby an away game. That's an absurd concept.
