No to entertaining trading Gunston. Only time I’d listen if the offer is too good ... our track history ? Pick 66 if a player requests a trade.

We are in the box seat here. We do nothing and keep him - massive win, or look at what Collingwood have to offer (provided Gunston wants to go) If Gunner wants to go we demand are really high pick OR a really good young player in return (highly unlikely but you never know)

I may be unpopular here, but I'm a big yes if we get great value. We need to inject some youth and unfortuently jack is really one of few players that hold big currency

How about pick 12 and they can keep Stephenson?

That’s a little better. He’s been putrid this year and even more so of late.

No thanks.

Jack means more to us at this stage than ever before. Almost untradeable.

For what he means to us and our structure/leadership, we would want way overs. I don’t think a club would pay what we would pull the trigger on.

Many players have had poor years in 2020. Stephenson is some sort of player!

Pick 12 and Darcy Moore

Id still say no!

Pick 12 is a crapshoot. You hope the player you pick is half as good as Gunston. But Moore I would love. Although I'm firmly against the idea of trading Gunston - and I doubt any Collingwood supporter would entertain the notion - if anything were to eventuate I'd be trying to do a straight swap with Moore. Wishful thinking.

Imagine (at the start of 2022):

B: Scrimshaw (23) Moore (26) Sicily (27)
HB: Impey (26) Frost (28) Day (20)
With rotations from: Hardwick (25), Greaves (21)

That's a Premiership defence in an incredible age bracket. Take our picks to the draft this year to improve the midfield. Pray to God that our poor list of tall forwards after trading Gunston improve or address the tall forward problem in the next draft. Get set from 2022 onwards for a genuine crack.

I hope that's tongue in cheek and not actually serious.

Brown's worst season ever, in a slightly sh*tter team then our own, with injuries and personal mitigating circumstances as an excuse, all forcing North to seek a trade, is nearly comparable to TOB's best season with us. They are what, a year apart in age too?

Is Tom Philips a FA? If not I'd take pick 12 and him for Gunners. A wingman in his mid 20's which is a need for us as well as the opportunity of picking a future star. We could go with a mid with our first pick and then get a promising tall with our second first rounder. Throw in Downie and we have 3 pretty good kids and a walk up start wingman rolling into the club next year.

It’s just not our method under Clarko. All his pressers say he is not ready to give up on the players he has that play regular seniors. He has never really invested in the early part of the draft or looked to get among the top 10. I don’t expect this to change. Gunston is going no where the more I think about it.

He isn’t going to give up a known known for some untried kid that may be a good player at best in the pick range you’d demand for Gunston.

He did in his first few years at the club

It's time for him to adapt and change then, because his current plan has clearly not worked.

Yes that was when he started out obviously , he hasn’t really since ... he’d trade it or pick late because of our ladder position.

As for adapting ... I’d like us to model on the bulldogs strategy in how young they are ... they get younger every year ... yes they are mid table to bottom of the 8 but with time they will be dominant ... their main issue is key forward.

I disagree, pick 12,and stephenson would do it imo with where our list is at,but thats just my opinion.

Wishing like hell that Gunners stays with us till he retires, GOD knows we need him more than ever.
If he did agree to be traded to say Collingwood, as others have said we're in the box seat.
We have to stern & ask for more than just their pick 12.
What that would entail will require lots of thought & engineering by GW & the other list managers.

They just signed Grundy to 1 mill per year for the next century.

Degoey is going to cost them min 600-700 a year.

Moore min700 a year.

Unless I am missing something with a reduced cap next year how do they then fit Gunstons 650 a year in unless Moore or Degoey are leaving?????

Nothing about bringing in Gunston and then signing Moore and Degoey makes any sense to me.

I smell a rat.
