I dont think many are surprised by this and not sure when the 1st prediction was for this but maybe even last year and all I hope for is a good career for Hately and a fair trade
And hopefully this is another block that gets the club closer to announcing the re-signing of Cameron
I would like a player swap but if Atkins goes to the Suns (Free agent) I am not sure what else on the list would be of interest to the club, HHs brother could be an option if the club sees him as the potential to be a defender. Frampton also if he could be a 1st ruck but I think he is more a forward/ruck and the other one as a depth player would be Seedsman (age 29 for the start of next season and 110 games)

Sold us a lemon with Curtly Hampton, you owe us a square up!

I believe that was adequately squared off by a 7ft tall ginger haired dinosaur who moved like a crab and had the flexibility of Ruth Cracknell post Mother and Son (may God rest her soul).

Whatever sins we left you with were squared off with interest there!

A lot depends on Adelaide’s intentions... I mean if they are full north rebuild mode then maybe we can pry an experienced head from the list

Yeah, look we have an experienced Jake Kelly if you want. Medium mileage. Lost the ability to go forward with the ball. Can defend? Can sledge (according to Stevie J).

Heath Chapman - very interesting prospect, can play a role as a tall defender as he is good in the air and with intercepting marks, but its what he does after he marks that makes him a talented prsopect, his run and dash for a big man after intercepting is a unique ability that could see him go higher than everyone thinks, i have him going later than others, but he could also go top 10 if a club loves what he can bring to a team

Davo-27's write-up. The second bit in bold is what intrigues me (and if we did decide to select him - excite!).

Then we chase someone like Hartigan and screw them back.

Ahem. I think Crows fans would laugh themselves silly if we took Hartigan - they cannot wait to be rid of him!

What’s the bet Essendon go hard now for Cameron. They’ll lose Daniher and Saad, and use some of that money to make a big play for Jez.
Dodo will be preaching, “We got the best key forward and pick 7... what a win!”

My intel is that the Crows are going to offer very little and use the PSD threat. They are in full combat mode and looking to bounce quick. This will be a very bad result for us unfortunately.
So you have Justin Reid on fast dial?

Can’t blame them but can we stop being the nice guys in trades, ******* drives me nuts.

We play nice and get players to where they want. Yet clubs screw us. fu** em.

Well.......... after having Phil Davis taken out from under us just as he was entering his prime due to stupid money being offered..... and knowing how dire our situation is at present, I can see our club playing slightly harder ball here than they usually would, meaning I think it'll be a third rounder for Hately.

He could fill Corr's spot. He's a decent stopper.
I agree that's an option - that was something I canvassed (without anyone agreeing with me!) several pages back when Corr's departure was first flagged.

However, it was more to the point that taking Hartigan would be seen as ''screwing them''. It wouldn't by most supporters, nor I reckon, the club.

The two clubs and the player has to sign off any trade.

The player can refuse to be traded to any of the 16 other clubs regardless of the offer.

If a trade is not completed, a player's recourse is to enter one of the drafts. This is what happened with Jack Martin.
Thanks for the explainer mate. I really didn't know the rules.

Surely we can find 100k to get him over the line.

He loves the lifestyle here and relative anonymity. Geelong is tempting because they are a good team seemingly in the window, geographically it’s convenient to Dartmoor. Hawkins will be around for a few more years so he could potentially play the role he wants and also get paid a shitload more as they have space. He’s a really lovely family oriented young man so even if he went we shouldn’t be angry, he’s been a foot soldier and served us so well. I’m comfortable with whatever he chooses but obviously prefer he stays and finishes a one club Premiership player.

Dodo will go hard for Cameron.
They could end trade period with 3 first rounders and Cameron.... he’ll be desperate for that good news to mask the disaster taking place.

If Cameron goes to the bombers he deserves what he gets.
There’s a reason anyone with talent is getting out.

Agreed. Was thinking we should flip it on them and see if we can pry someone out of the shitfight that is currently them.

They are talking the bombers will offer 800k.
Surely we match and get something nice, if he goes (and I hope he doesn’t).
