Tim was OOC and had previously requested a trade. I don't think AA is a great indicator either, there's more variables to it than just being good or not.Interesting.
WCE paid #14, #24, #37 and this year's first rounder (perhaps ~#20) for Tim Kelly last year after making the AA team.
I actually think Josh's stocks have diminished quite a bit since last time we had a go at him. Did not even make the AA squad last year and unlikely again this.
Based on the T Kelly trade there is no way anyone's parting with picks #2 and #13 for him I wouldn't have thought.
Surely that's a joke! We're looking at a long, long term rebuild.I would think that Norths would try to beat the price down as much as possible - Melbourne's pick thus year (currently #13 per your example) and next year's North's first rounder (because it's likely to be an improved showing from Norths) with a second coming back (their starting gambit likely to be #13 this year + second rounder next year!).

Also with 2021 rumoured to be a superdraft it's unlikely many clubs will be dealing potential prime future picks.

Teams will understand they he could be used in a number of roles - off half back, as a tall winger, or forward. They will be wary of his tendency to drop his head, and that will cost trade value. There'll be real interest this time. I hope he lands somewhere that can use him to the best of his abilities - Gaff and Hill have made a career of roaming the space of the Perth stadiums, so maybe he should head west.
Yeah, pushing them out the door tends to result in payouts to get them to leave.

What do people think is a reasonable trade? I note that GWS is pretty pragmatic in letting guys go where they don't see a future with us - I'd like us to squeeze a little harder in many cases.
To be honest I almost reckon I'd be happier with North throwing more at Williams than they'd be prepared to with Kelly. Talk about blokes who can play multiple roles.1. Bird in the hand.
2. Every club expects to improve. Even just a one-spot improvement would mean giving up pick #3 vice #2. When you're second last, you'd back yourself not to come last next year - which is the only way in which the scenario I posed would be worse.
sorry for the intrusion people but how on the ball is Sam Edmund as he just posed this
If it has some truth to it, what sort of value do you guys place on Hately as I have not really seen him play this year

I'd part with 28 (bulldogs 2nd round pick we have) for sure. Many on our board want us to use the PSD to get an OOC player BUT in my opinion the crows and GWS have done a fair bit of trading in the past and actually using the PSD is a pretty extreme tool that could wreck the relationship going forward and therefore I would hope a fair deal can be worked If there is truth to the comments...and we can save the PSD for the less friendly clubs like CarltonWe'll go for Pick 20 but likely settle for Pick 28, depending on what sort of compensation you get for Brouch if he leaves and Atkins
The PSD thing happens once in a blue moon, why so many supporter bases think it a) will happen and b) is a good idea is beyond me, but certainly that 28 is what I'd expect gets it done, with some exchanging of late picks likely as well. I do see a scenario where Brad Crouch leaves and you get an end of first compensation, then we push really hard for pick 20 in that caseI'd part with 28 (bulldogs 2nd round pick we have) for sure. Look, from an outsiders perspective the model GWS set up caused much early pain result wise but the mid term rewards and longer term stability it sets up were to be applauded. The depth of midfield talent at your club is the envy of most clubs BUT that is because the turnover of talent happens which brings in more draft capital. But realistically, clubs get some right and they get some wrong at the draft and with us, the jury is still well and truly out re Chayce Jones. With guys like Kelly, Taranto, Coniglio, Hopper, Green, Caldwell etc, you bat so deep that players will get forced out purely from lack of real opportunity...but the ones going are the ones GWS are happy to let go and that is sustainableLosing Hateley for pick 28 (which I assume will get shuffled into the 30's after Academy and FS selections) when he was drafted pick 14 is not a great list management result.
Wonder why they made a point of trying to recruit his type - perhaps they thought Cogs or someone might split and there would be more openings in the midfield?
There is an element of risk in every selection, to have a hit, and get close enough that you get almost the same shot again is a pretty good result.Losing Hateley for pick 28 (which I assume will get shuffled into the 30's after Academy and FS selections) when he was drafted pick 14 is not a great list management result.

GWS need to invest in some KPP.
Ricardi is breaking through but there is not enough support I think by the looks of it.
OKeefe is getting on as is Davis and even Haynes is around 28.
Watching them versus Carlton the team must be getting frustrated with the impotence taking it forward!!
Nah just need to throw some coin at the umps. Seems to be working for Carlton tonight.
ha ha, GWS are getting murdered by the umpires at the moment
That and our set shots.
We hit those shots we never usually miss and we are up by 30 or so.
The game.
