I could actually see that as a possibility plus 2 1st rounders from Geelong, but what would the Cats send to the Demons?

Yeah good question.

Maybe it could be tied somehow into Higgins getting to Geelong and Brown moving to Melbourne, but that ends up as a four-way trade which makes my head hurt.

Could it be tied into the Preuss trade, so you get picks and Preuss in return for Cameron and Geelong send something to Melbourne?

Could involve North as well, given Brown has nominated them, and Higgins is most likely coming to us.

Something along the lines of:

Melbourne

OUT: Preuss, Pick 26
IN: Narkle, Brown

North

OUT: Brown, Higgins
IN: Constable, Pick 26

GWS

OUT: Cameron
IN: Preuss, 13, 15

Geelong

OUT: 13, 15, Narkle, Constable
IN: Cameron, Higgins

Has been stated that North may be interested in Constable, and Narkle would add some speed to Melbourne's side.

Constable essentially a straight swap for Higgins. Preuss a straight swap for Narkle, Brown a straight swap for Pick 26 and then us handing Preuss, 13 & 15 to you guys.

Would be a decent outcome for all - if Cameron actually ends up leaving

Melbourne

OUT: Preuss, pick 53
IN: Brown

North

OUT: Brown, Higgins
IN: Pick 20, pick 53

GWS

OUT: Cameron, pick 44
IN: Preuss, pick 13, 2021 GEE R1

Geelong

OUT: pick 13, pick 20, 2021 GEE R1
IN: Cameron, Higgins, pick 43

Giants get two first rounders (but not high ones) and Preuss for Cameron, also giving up pick 43

Cats give up three first rounders (all in the teens or 20s though) for Cameron and Higgins, but keep 15 and also get back into the later rounds with 43.

North get 20 for Brown which is overs but 53 for Higgins which is unders.

Dees get Brown for Preuss and a late pick, I think Brown is worth slightly more but Preuss is a contracted ruckman in demand, whereas Brown is being pushed out the door by North.

Probably needs some more picks in there balancing it out a bit, I think Geelong are getting it a little harsh and maybe North are doing a bit too well.

Possibly but it depends what player types they want and whether we have anyone willing to go there.

A fringe player(s) or a later pick of some sort?

I think you’re getting away pretty cheaply there. Narkle and Constable are both just above steakknife level really.

Narkle is the steakknives on top of the two firsts GWS want - but they're getting Preuss instead, and Constable is a straight swap for Higgins, as most North and Cats posters believe that would be a good trade.

Not sure why if we're giving up two players and two first rounders, that we should be giving up much more? Maybe we give a Future 3rd to North with Constable, but that'd be it

Dodoro doing typical things....

Apparently offfered a future second. After we rejected is threatening to use PSD. As if Jye lasts till them! The Roos would take him in a heart beat
Should tell him just to help them out this once we will take Saad for him

Crows would take him
Roos would take him
Swans would take him
Hawks would take him
Suns would take him

PSD threat is meaningless when you don't have the first pick. Even as annoyed as I've got, not for one second have I even considered that in the Cameron trade.

Caldwell will be a gun and I think hes still worth the Pick 11 he was drafted at. Dockers would have given us Pick 10 for Clark, and that's about where I rate Caldwell

I doubt it will work - Dodo would ask too much in the trade.

IMHO, if Geelong is trading up multiple first rounders to get a better pick to give us ... why bother? - just give us the original picks and we can deal from there!
I assumed the player would come from them. Who would we want off their list?

I think that there would be better teams than Bombers to look at trading with to gain a player. Lions for Witherden being my favourite of course!

Perhaps Collingwood for Tom Phillips? They need to move players for salary cap relief.

Cameron to Geelong, Geelong's #13 & #15 to GWS, Geelong's #20 to Pies and Phillips to GWS.

Or maybe, because they'll be after late picks to match for McInnes, instead of Geelong's #20 to Pies, Geelong's #38 and GWS's #44. That would give the Pies the equivalent of pick #22 and the points to match a bid from #16 - pretty good value! (#44 is pretty much a junk pick for us, Cats feel they get a win with keeping pick #20, we get 2 first round picks plus a player who can replace Whitfield on a wing when we put Lachie into defence.)

I'd assume a threeway trade with Essendon and Geelong would look like

Geelong IN: Jeremy Cameron Out: 13, 15, Future 2nd
Essendon IN: 13, 15 Out:8
GWS IN: 8, Geelong future 2nd Out: Jeremy Cameron

Quite possibly that's what would be needed.

However, I'd argue that (1) Geelong won't want to pay that high a price ... with a future 2nd on top of two firsts, (2) from my perspective, I'd prefer to keep the two mid teens picks & (3) that still doesn't give us a player!

Given Bombers want Caldwell too, if we're going to lose him we'd be better to include him vice one of the Geelong picks - ideally #13.

So:
Geelong IN: Jeremy Cameron OUT: 13, 15, Future 2nd
Essendon IN: Caldwell, 15 OUT:8
GWS IN: 8, 13, Geelong future 2nd OUT: Jeremy Cameron, Jye Caldwell

That looks better, Cats probs still feel shafted there and honestly I'd cop a future third instead of second if we're getting 13
