Neither is Cameron the moment we matched.Kelly is not relevant at all. He was not a RFA.
you should of matched then. The crucial detail being less that he was younger (which is valid), but more to do with the fact Kelly gave 2 yrs of service. The reason free agency was brought in was to allow players who’ve given great long term service a pathway. Cameron has given 9 years of service to you blokes and you’re acting in his way and demanding max value.. which goes against the whole premise. Sorry, but the Kelly trade is completely irrelevant. It’d be like Geelong fans comparing it to losing GAJ in his prime for to late first founders...
great well you take the hit and we get the picks, if it’s not always fair.it’s not always fair you know.
You haven’t just accepted anything hence we are here.
Considering you have spent the last week complaining about having to trade and “the look of it”. I’ll just sit back and laugh at your talk of “fair”.
Neither is Cameron the moment we matched.

You can spin it anyway you want but it’s just more complaining about having to pay for a gun in his prime instead of a free hit.

It can also be revealed the Giants would accept Picks 13, 15 and Geelong’s future first-rounder, which would likely be in the mid to late teens in 2021.
GWS would then send Pick 44 back to the Cats, though Geelong is gunning for a second-rounder in return.
AFL trades 2020: Jeremy Cameron trade, Geelong Cats, GWS Giants, Cats players offered, trade targets, Rhys Stanley, news | FOX SPORTS
GWS flatly rejected a list of players offered up by Geelong as potential trade bait in Jeremy Cameron negotiations.coupler.foxsports.com.au
This Geelong bloke arguing why Cameron and Kelly are different has no idea.
Kelly and Cameron are literally the same now that GWS matched
9 years of service vs 2 years of service. Wow so hard to understand
It is not relevant. The rules have them as equal. How they got to that point is irrelevant
Interesting that Ben Brown, who’s kicked more goals than Cameron over the last 4 years, is looking like being swapped for 2 picks in the low 30s.PLAYERCARDSTART50Ben Brown

I rate Cameron hugely and am sad he’s walked on the Giants, but wonder if Ben Brownis a better value pickup for Melbourne considering what is expected as a trade from Geelong.PLAYERCARDSTART50Ben Brown

That said…screw Geelong and pay up because they need Cameron to take the big prize in the next few years.
They can if they want.So on your logic of just following the rules and not acting in the spirit of the rules, Adelaide should give you ppl sweet FA for Hatley and take him on the preseason draft for free. You know, coz by the rules they don’t need to trade, having pick 1 in the PSD.
No current season stats available
Let him go to the draft. He won't reach Geelong!the fear that you will fold and trade for 2 first rounders is clear on this board. You will - it is different to Kelly, 9 years service is very relevant and lets all take a deep breath and see it plays out - you will trade or he goes into the draft. Simples.
No one wants him to go to the draft including Jeremy himself. So no one is going to drop their pants.the fear that you will fold and trade for 2 first rounders is clear on this board. You're such an angry person, lol...none of that makes sense.
Whatever, it's pointless discussing anyway, as it just devolves into hypothetical dick measuring.
Enjoy.

That’s not how the real world works. Cameron gave you 9 years, that’s worth something. You accommodate those players, within reason, you don’t dangle them like a carrot trying to extract max value. 2 firsts are within reason

When Preuss said he beat Gawn, what he means was he hit him with a 2x4 a couple of times at the beginning of the race and then never saw him again.Well this does something to soften my critique on the trade, was one of the main things I was worried about
Not so sure Geelong "needs" Cameron as such as some are saying. Yes, he'd make our forward line so much stronger, but Geelong did have the No.1 attack in 2020 based on points for.Interesting that Ben Brown, who’s kicked more goals than Cameron over the last 4 years, is looking like being swapped for 2 picks in the low 30s.PLAYERCARDSTART50Ben Brown
