So who do we take at 32? Winder? Ginnivan? Ford? Neale? Bowey? Durdin?

Depends on the first pick...I'm not against a Cox/Neale quinella...if we then get Western and Walker.
Taking someone like Bailey Laurie would make Neale a real priority.

I also wonder whether someone like Caleb Poulter would interest us first up

Can’t remember What date he said for young but pretty sure he said they were all good to go

Yep, Belly said Young was good to go. Was talking to Serong post the members meeting and he said that Young had been joining group of the younger boys in their training sessions for the last few weeks now.

JUH 3
Campbell 12
Gulden 25
Jones 18
Mcinnes 20

This has us at #14, #35, #51, #52, #59

Option 1:

...it also has Collingwood with a 479 point deficit. Their first next season should be on the market. This bid was right after their second pick, I think we could offer our second next year with our picks #55 and #56 which at the time would be #50 and 51 (532 points) for their first next season.

It means they get their academy player this season with no deficit off their 2nd round pick next year, so we are trading full value of our second round pick (no deficit points will need to be deducted from it) and we get their first for the cost of covering their shortfall (plus a touch) this year.

I'm sure they will want more for it but if they started with pick #10 next year a 479 point deficit turns it into pick #20, then they get all the compensation picks pushing it further back. It will be worth a second round pick at that point.

They trade it to us, it gets to stay as pick #10. They trade it to us for our second rounder next year and our 2x round three picks this season they carry no deficit into next season.

Trade would be:
Collingwood's 2021 R1 pick for Fremantle's #50, #51 and 2021 R2 pick

Notes:
If our academy player is bid on outside of the first round, our first round picks are protected from deficit points being removed from them. So that we don't have a second round pick next year won't matter points wise, we upgraded it to a first.

This can only happen if McInnes is bid on after their first round picks are both used this season.

Option 2:

McInnes is bid on prior to Collingwood's pick(s) and we trade for that pick in the first round of this season instead.

AFL.com.au reporting it’s all but certain that Adelaide will bid on JUH with pick one now.
Matthew Nicks kinda cryptically confirmed it in comments this morning.
Proper order too. Let’s the dogs pay up in full.

It also takes pressure off Tilthorpe or McDonald to be taken at No. 2. Win win

Where do we predict the academy players will be bid? Not ours, the ones to be bid on before our picks.

I'll work out what pick number we then hold and we can predict which players will be taken prior to that point.

Try a high case example
1 - JUH
5 - Campbell
10 - Jones
15 - McInnes
20 - Gulden
25 - Downie

#16, #35, #47,#48, #53

This example was interesting because Sydney's pick 82 worth zero points was brought in enough by picks before it to be worth 19 points at the time of the bid at #25.

If Collingwood are happy 12 and 14 are before any Reef Bids, we could swap our 12 and 2021 2nd ---> for Magpies 16 and 2021 1st.

Could also swap our 55 and their 65 so they have enough points to match Reef this year, and 65 will come in to low 50's before we need to match our NGA's

They get 2 picks before Reef Bid and more points to match, and points to cover the Daicos bid next year.

We slide back 4 spots this year but ride their 2021 season to hopefully the Wooden Spoon....

Have seen a fair few of the players training down at Tompkins park. Also saw Blakely doing a one on one session for skills with and older guy last week
