One of our moderators has been rabbiting on about how well they're run for years... and not in the ironic sense that you are.

I'm actually not being ironic. I believe Collingwood are a better run club than the Crows

cow-towing to the AFL. Ironic (Or not) that Rendell ended up at Collingwood. And Mifsud was found out to be a piece of scum after all. Trig should have told them to go get ****ed and held onto Rendell instead of throwing him under the bus. Look at Collingwood midfield now compared to our b grade bunch. FFS.

You'd have to say half the clubs in the competition are better run than the Crows.

Collingwood, Hawthorn, Sydney, Geelong, Richmond, West Coast, Brisbane, GWS and even some of the battler clubs like the Bulldogs seem to go alright

Clubs like the Bulldogs 'go alright' but with far fewer opportunities and natural advantages that we have but squander.

He would have had a large part in the recruitment of the majority of the Collingwood team by now wouldn't he?

Been there 5/6 years so definitely helped get some very good players

Collingwood's midfielders drafted since 2012 (when Rendell joined) by year and draft position:

2017 #6 Stephenson
2015 #32 Sier
2015 #63 Philips
2014 #5 De Goey

Most of their mids have been traded in (Adams, Treloar, Mayne, Varcoe, Greenwood, Crisp) or were there before 2012 (Pendles, Beams, Sidebottom).

Matt Rendell has nothing to do with the strength of their midfield other than perhaps playing a hand in saying he agreed with everyone else that Stephenson and JDG were going to be great players.

Us and Freo really should be ashamed at what we've dished up for the last 20 years. Both clubs have very little ambition (with the exception of our AFLW side).

Less than a couple of goals at 3/4 time, had they kicked straight especially with their set shots inside 20m they would have won that game.

They've outmanoeuvred us at every turn football wise over the last 3 or so years.

I was thinking over a longer period than the last 3 years.

If you are just considering the last few years we'd be the worst run club in the competition, if not the outright worst then close to it

Wonder if he would have passively agreed to trade down to get a backman.

Well it's not just Essendon I'd have in that category. Gold Coast, Fremantle, Melbourne and Carlton have all been terribly run too

St Kilda pre and post Ross Lyon as well (some would argue including during). Have they settled on a location yet. Built new facilities at Seaford and were talking about/have moving/moved back to Morrabin

Dwarfs, school girls, accusations of sexual assaults .. their drafting has been appalling, NZ experiment etc

They do seem to be trying something in a flooded market. Whether its right or wrong is the argument. I think their vision is ' lets survive'

I think the only thing that's set us out from those clubs is the natural advantages our club was created with.

There's every chance that every one of them will win a premiership before us.
