I have received an official complaint and am formally demanding an apology on behalf of pissants, for the outrageous suggestion that Damian Barrett is one of them. If this is not forthcoming within the next 48 hours I am instructed as their legal counsel to start court proceedings.
I do apologise to all Piss Ants out there.. this four eyed dickweed is a complete piece of shit

Stephenson was a big fan of the club after spending his u18 placement at North in that pre season, pretty sure he mentioned we were his preference for the draft too. If he’s available on the cheap, would be silly not to take the chance on getting him right.

Yeap I remember that, i think we were expecting to take him but LDU was available and took him instead

We do well on making that a non issue with our players
šŸ˜‚ it helps when the entire list has been front loaded for the past 4 years.. I do agree, our player retention is solid. We have a good home, North Melbourne isnt as scummy as richmond these days so Other than Levi, Wells, higgins (?) Weve been very good at this

I think we probably rated him around third (we weren't getting Rayner) after LDU and Dow but then Freo threw the Brayshaw curveball. If Freo took LDU like anticipated I reckon we would have drafted Stephenson.

Meant Specifically the WA go home factor.. we have made it an almost Non issue with drafting WA guys... Most WA guys also dont really move any more compared to anyone else...

Stephenson only seems to do well when he plays deep and leads up to the ball like a pseudo full forward. Doesn't seem to play up the ground much and goes missing after first quarters as highlighted by the media many times this year. It makes me wonder if his heart condition is an issue? Aren't there hang-ups on his field kicking too?

If that's all he's got then no thanks. The club would want to be really confident that he can play further up the field (i.e. high HF/wing/HB flank) if they were to take him on.

AFL trades 2020: Clubs monitoring contract situation of Geelong Cats’ Sam Menegola
Ryan Daniels
The West Australian
Fri, 30 October 2020

Rival clubs are keeping an eye on Sam Menegola’s contract situation at Geelong, with the game-breaking wingman’s future beyond next season unclear.
Menegola, 28, has one year remaining on his contract at the Cats and is understood to be looking to sign a four-year extension, at a fair salary increase, to remain at the club beyond 2021.
However the Cats have yet to present him with an offer and on Friday signed another wingman in Hawthorn free agent Isaac Smith.

A source close to the situation said Menegola should be considered ā€œvery gettableā€ by other clubs.
A high percentage of AFL trades and free agency acquisitions are set into motion up to a year out from the transaction, and Menegola’s situation is worth monitoring.
It’s understood the midfielder is open to a return to the Fremantle — where he spent three seasons without playing a game from 2012 to 2014.
The Cats rate Menegola highly — and see him as more than just a required player. Menegola was one of their best in last weekend’s AFL grand final, with the league’s official player rating system ranking him as second best on ground behind Dustin Martin.
Geelong have been busy off the field in recent weeks, with Smith’s acquisition coming alongside bids for Greater Western Sydney forward Jeremy Cameron and North Melbourne veteran Shaun Higgins.
But the free agency player raid could have a major impact on players already at the club.
Young midfielder Charlie Constable has been told to explore other options, talented West Australian Quinton Narkle is without a contract for next season — he’s met with four clubs already — and top-10 draft pick Nakia Cockatoo is expected to be on his way to Brisbane.
Menegola currently earns around $450,000 per year — rival clubs see him as a player worth between $550,000 and $600,000 per season.
The former Subiaco midfielder and his wife Emma welcomed their son Otis into the world in May this year, making a move home to WA all the more enticing should he go down that path.

Agreed happy to take him relatively cheaply from the pies

I hope we’re looking at Stephenson and possibly 2m Peter. We obviously need to fill more list spots in addition to draft kids. Are there any role players we should be looking at that dont necessarily fit into that younger age bracket we could be looking at??? Caddy is one that I thought could be worth a look. Happy to be shouted down.
