If anything Parker is more of a small forward in style than turner because he's faster and has an eye for goal. Some of his draft highlights are unreal too.

We’ll get someone great. I know DBG is going to be good but I still have the glut of key backs we have picked and seen exit in the last few years.

I don't think that's right. Live trading is for teams to react once a selection has been made, not to agree on a selection / non-selection in advance.

In this case, live trading kicks in and the form it takes (who trades and for what) will depend upon whether or not Adelaide bid on JUH. It doesn't facilitate an up-front agreement between Adelaide and Footscray that Adelaide don't bid on him - this is draft tampering. But yes, hard to prove.

Option 1 and potential outcomes
- Keep the pick and he turns into a superstar
- Keep the pick and he turns into a bust


Option 2 and potential outcomes
- Trade down to 6 and 7 and draft two really good players
- Trade down to 6 and 7 and draft one really good player and one bust
- Trade down to 6 and 7 and draft two busts

6 and 7 are just examples of what we could potentially get.

Out of the two options with their potential outcomes what are we most willing to live with?

I’d be gunning for one of the top 3 talents. Cant get Mcdonald, then its a toss up between Hollands/DGB/Phillips .. I dont accept you will get anyone of this caliber with 6 or 7 .. you might return better with second round picks of Vic talent

Agree to disagree, usually the first few days yield nothing and from what I can gather the weekends are only used for off the record discussions i.e. nothing can be lodged. Still got until Thursday evening.

It is draft tampering. A club changing the outcome of the draft by verbalising their intention to bid on an academy player to secure a beneficial trade is draft tampering. The problem though isn't the action of the clubs it's the lack of accountability from the AFL to prevent draft tampering and the system they've devised that rewards two clubs benefiting each other while disadvantaging others.

The academy system, bids, points, live trades etc they all create opportunities to rort the system and this all goes back as far as 2010 when Wingard told GWS he wouldn't go to them and the AFL did nothing to prevent it happening again.

It's a bogus system run by a sclerotic administration.

Yes basically, game playing.... serious stuff will start to happen from Monday as only 4 days left and a lot to happen... if it was reduced to 3-4 days it would stop all this crap at the beginning and teams get straight down to business
