I’m torn on whether North should trade the pick down or not. I don’t believe they will.
Option 1 and potential outcomes
- Keep the pick and he turns into a superstar
- Keep the pick and he turns into a bust


Option 2 and potential outcomes
- Trade down to 6 and 7 and draft two really good players
- Trade down to 6 and 7 and draft one really good player and one bust
- Trade down to 6 and 7 and draft two busts

6 and 7 are just examples of what we could potentially get.

Out of the two options with their potential outcomes what are we most willing to live with?

Shit. When you put it like that, any pick could go either way. We might as well trade 'em all and pick up players - at least they are known quantities. Of course, they could get injured, homesick or be a bad cultural fit, in which case, we're busted again. This is bad. Very bad.

Going on past years, a lot of minor trades are broadly agreed to early on and finalised late to give teams time to work on more complex deals.

Any trades involving players ends on Thursday evening. Clubs can still trade picks until a week before the draft and again during the draft.
