So much for all the crap about North having to take what they can get. As if Brady was ever going to buckle after just introducing his no bullsh!t hard arse approach to list management.

It fills me with confidence regarding Brown.

We aren’t just going to roll over for nothing.

If we do, there’s probably a good reason for it, r.e his knee etc

Let me get this right. Tom Phillips and Jayden Stephenson are contracted for a combined 1.18 million in season 2021. I hope everyone backs off and let’s them stay at the pies. They are in a huge mess

I suspect we might find that Joyces has been working there recently!

Thats a solid trade.

Future 2nd is much better than 38 in this compromised draft.

Brady is all over it. He knows that Higgins is much more valuable to Geelong than the clueless idiots in the media, and it appears Geelong have acknowledged it also.

If Smith & Higgins were playing the forward of centre midfield role for them on grand final day, then they probably win it.

How on earth are the allowed to sign blokes like Darcy Moore to big money deals when their cap is in such a mess? Surely the AFL have to step in.

I know he’s projected to go a bit later but maybe they are really keen on Phillips (played with Rowell and Anderson) and don’t want to risk him being gone?
If that's true and the Swans & Hawfs desperately need KPPs, could see Hollands getting to 5. Or if they like Hollands I'm totally fine with Phillips.

What is interesting if the reports are accurate is that driving 28 down to 20 suggests we might not be looking to bundle 28 to get at an earlier first rounder.

It's seemingly all about what they can get in the door.

they use that big machine to woo a bunch of players and then churn them.

I mean how can people not see their open hypocrisy?

Beams needs to take a year off for mental health issues, please respect this and don't ask him about his gambling debts that Eddie paid.

Adam Treloar might not play good because there is the potential he will have anxiety with his partner and child being in another state so we really dont want to make good on the hefty part of his contract.

They may be popular and they may have a billion fans but that doesn't necessarily make them a decent organisation.

In which case taking a few mid-late picks for Brown will suck. But Brady sure appears to be doing nothing like what the media a reporting, so let's see how that plays out.

Our boy The acurate one reckons we have about 35 kids that we think are worthy. Maybe we want to get in as many of them as we can.

He's another moron who I would like 5 minutes head to head with live on air.

Who the fu** does he think he is? We're the NMFC, and he's a certified sh!tman cashing in on a media stunt his old man taught him.
He might be thick but he has worked out a way to make good money talking about football for a living so he's not entirely stupid.

He just sprouts controversial "opinions" off flimsy assumptions. And the punters line up to argue with him, thrn Hutchy swallows it up and gives him more shows to appear on.
Gotta admire the ability to carve a niche for yourself in a saturated market I guess.

Edit: just acknowledging your point about his dad teaching him. Definitely makes sense

What would be the AFL punishment if they were to go a million bucks over the cap?

the most any club has been fined for going over was Essendon at $106k they were fined $85k.

Carlton were fined $50k for going over it $85k.

The fine to excess ratio is between 60-80% so if it worked that way they would be looking at a fine of $700k (+/- $100k)

Reality though if they mismanaged their cap to be 10x the worst excess the sport has seen they should probably cop more than just monetary punishment.

The only metric of his "success" is the stupidity of the general public.

Don't worry, PLENTY of pies fans are over the Eddie & Bucks show, and openly admit that it is a mismanaged dictatorship down there.

They would have both of them ousted tomorrow.

Brown is a one-dimensional lead up, mark, kick goal type forward. He's very good when the system caters to him but struggles otherwise. He applies very little forward pressure and isn't good when the ball hits the deck. He's not agile around the ground or dominant in the air and is limited to playing inside 50m which limits the game plan his team can employ (only really works with quick ball movement which is risky).

He kicked as many goals as he did for us because of the ridiculous amount of times he was targeted compared to the rest of the the comp.

Cameron regularly roams higher up the ground and can play as a link between the 50's. In addition to this he's very dangerous inside 50m due to his athletic ability in the air and when the ball hits the ground.
I’ve cheered Ben as much as any, but this is the brutal truth.

If there's 35, then it's not unreasonable to believe some of them would slip to pick ~50.

Based on that we would keep the picks up until around there.

Yeah, it is mate.

Some folks are struggling to get past the emotional attachment to the point of rational analysis.

Adelaide will most likely get the dogs pick in return for a couple of 2nd rounders so makes sense we're just looking to get back into the first round.
A 'deal with us or we'll bid pick 1' kinda situation.
Reckon we're in line for a couple of early 2nds for brown too so losing our 28 wont be as bad as once thought.

Indeed. We would have them ranked though. Moving up the order gets us our prefered players.

How so? We were still negotiating with him and then determined he doesn't suit our game plan going forward - told him to find a new club. he didn't walk out - we told him we would trade him. Sacked might be a harsh word but at the end of the day we told him to go. How is this fake news?
At worst it's not renewing a contract.
