Bend them over a barrel Brady, next year's 3rd rounder and we take his full salary dump

That's what I'd be going for - we take every last $ and get a very favourable trade. Had a tough year or so this kid and normally I wouldn't be overly bullish on a Collingwood player in his position (they are chronically over rated by media) but if he can play as a true small forward for us he's quite close to a perfect fit for our list.

Garry just gave us a pump up after a caller questioned whether JS coming to us was a good idea.
Not sure why that's even a question. Firstly, he 22 and joining an exciting bunch of players his own agree bracket. Secondly, getting away from the Hollywood hype of Collingwood is probably going to be good for him.

Ben Brown (North Melbourne)

He’ll sign a four-year deal at Melbourne, it’s just a question of the price. A pick swap with Adelaide and sending Braydon Preuss to GWS means the Demons own picks 26, 31 and 33. It’s believed Melbourne would be happy to send off 31 and 33 for the forward who kicked 187 goals across 2017-19, but the Kangaroos may want a bit more.

Jaidyn Stephenson (Collingwood)

Contracted until the end of 2022, but looks a likely victim of the club’s salary cap squeeze - and in a sense his own talent, since he’s on up to $500,000 a year after winning the 2018 Rising Star award. A Seven report stated North Melbourne is offering five years and $2.5 million for him, which would be hard to knock back. If he’s getting that sort of money, is he worth Pick 11 in a trade? He certainly seems better than Pick 28, the Roos’ next selection.

Jed Anderson (North Melbourne)

Still yet to sign a new deal and a number of clubs are monitoring the situation, but Carlton isn’t one of them.

Brown was worth multiple first rounders and now we are haggling over two mid second rounders for him, so no Stephenson isn’t resulting in pick 11 to the pies.

Surely we haven't been wasting our time with these clowns if they haven't even offered a second rounder? It's has to be more media bullshite
Media. Watson on SEN was talking the same narrative this morning. Cites gambling, illness, lack of strength. Surely, surely he's worth pick 11 says Watson. Lyon says no, it's a second round. Watson back tracks and basicaly asks why JS would want to go to North anyway. Watson contradicted his argument inside a one minute discussion. Media.

Mitch Cleary on trade radio said that North wont be trading any first rounders for Stephenson. He also met with the leadership group.

It's a second round pick or we walk away.

Was just about to post saying if we trade pick 2 or 11 for Stephenson we've screwed up. This is music to my ears.

Clayton and Luffy have found some additional backbone with the Rawlings appointment.

no flaming way if 500 x 5 is the offer. thats even with magpies picking up 100k/PA of wages the remaining contract period ( 3 years i believe?)
Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if that is the offer. We clearly rate him, we can spread the pies contract out for longer, he’s clearly talented and he doesn’t want to leave, but is getting pushed out. We may have needed additional years to entice him a little to persuade him and give him that added security.

Ben Brown

Melbourne and North Melbourne are still haggling over Brown's value, though the Kangaroos are resigned to only securing picks inside the second round for the marking forward. It's understood a host of players, including Alex Neal-Bullen and Aaron vandenBerg, were offered by the Demons as part of the deal but have been turned down by the Kangaroos. Melbourne has five selections between picks No.28 and 50 and could bundle multiple of those together to strike a deal by tomorrow night's deadline. – Riley Beveridge

This is good.

Watson should retire.

Over paid, gambling, illness, lack of strength but worth 11.

Did Watson ask why Dunkley would want to go to Essendon?

The dominoes all centre around the Dunkley to * trade. If neither club budges, then the Stephenson trade becomes a desperate situation for Collingwood.
