I assume 2 and 11 wouldn’t get you 6,7 and 8 from Essendon would it? Not sure I want it but what would the points difference be?

6,7,8 = ~5000 vs 2, 11 = ~ 3800

No chance they do that.

Dodoro would expect 2 & 11 for pick ****ing 8 anyway.

The AFL announced today that there's only a minimum one draft pick required this year. Given we have two NGA's, I dare say we would seriously consider doing that deal, regardless of the point deficit.

Collingwood has literally 7 threads on their board about their s**t trading, non-m'ship renewal, cull Eddie & Bucks, Ned Guy......🤣

Go leave our membership number on there 👍

I would, but I’m not sure Ned would pick up the phone.

Don’t think he’ll ever pick up a phone again after tonight 😂😂

You thought the Brad Crouch saga was bad?

All of Matt Crouch, Rory Laird and Brodie Smith are free agents next year.

Adelaide will be doing exactly the same thing as they did with Brad this year to accelerate a rebuild.

Prepare for Adelaide will get pick 1,2,3,4 next year from their supporters and the SA media.

I come in peace.

I was just thinking, perhaps you gave us a 'good will' deal due to the swap of picks last year? With the unknown being if we were sh*t again you would have got a top five pick?

And a big assumption that you instigated the move*

Good question.

It seems obvious to me that we didn't rate 2019 pick 9 onwards in comparison with 1 - 18 in this years draft.

Where would Pickett go in this years draft? Pick 9?

I very much doubt it. He would be 17-18+

You wouldn't be taking him ahead of those rated by draft central at 9 to 16 at AFL draft central: Lachlan Jones, Zach Reid, Heath Chapman, Alex Davies, Nikolas Cox, Nathan O’Driscoll, Kaine Baldwin or Oliver Henry.

I reckon North won this trade.

bit different pykie

laird and smith won’t leave sa - they will do the right thing by the club

crouch on the other hand

I think live trading on draft night, and McDonald is there at 2, 6+7+8 is a very real possibility.
Agree, but that wont be on the table if Crows pick McDonald and personally I can't see us not picking him at 2. #6 would get us one of the mythical top 5 but if reports are correct and there's space to others, the kid we'd pick at 7 could be there at 11, and who knows what we've got our eye on further down. From what I can tell, Mahony, Comben, and Perez were great picks. Curt Taylor the year before a touch of genius! I think we have a strong bunch of kids coming through the midfield along with senior hardnuts in Cunners, JZ, and Jed. Outside mids/wingers, Polec, Dumont, and can easily see Bailey, TT, Jaidyn rotating through there. Our key defenders look good with Corr coming in and McKay is only going to get better after a breakout year. The area we need to address is Key forwards and another developing ruckman. Comben could be anything who knows, but if the opportunity to pick up a highly rated young key forward (and he plays up the ground, is a big kick, and is very mobile) then I just can't see us passing up that opportunity. Sure there are others, but I think WAFL form is good form. Tillthorpe didn't do a great deal at senior level in the sanfl. Granger Barrass is a defender is he not? Nope take McDonald all day every day, addresses both a need and more or less best available.

AFL will change the rules to no FA Compensation at all or in the very least, not in the first round.

Rowell aside, it's a much stronger top 15 for the most part.

I'd definitely take Hollands ahead of Anderson.

Jackson @ 3, McAsey @ 6 and Georgiades @ 18 were the KPP in the first round.

As I said, I think

- On the open market and without the knowledge of how Rowell transitions, JUH 100% goes #1 between them.
- McDonald would have gone #2 last year.
- Thilthorp is a better all round prospect than Jackson. Would have gone #2 last year.
- DGB is better than McAsey in almost every facet as an u/18, I'd argue he would of gone at #2 or #3.
- I think Reid is better than McAsey
- Cox = McAsey and McAsey went in the top 6

- I think Green went later than he should have and statistically he'd slot into this years top 10 easily. He's comparable to Phillips
- Ash goes after the big 5 of this year
- McInnes = Flanders
- Campbell > Stephens
- Phillips > Young & Serong

The likes of O'Driscoll, Bruhn, Macrae, Jones kill Pickett, Day, Weightman and Bergman imo.

As you can see, it's all-round a much stronger top 15. I'd argue all 5 of the "big 5" would have gone pick #2 also had they been a year older.

Would you have Pickett in this years top 16?

All fingers point to Holland’s being a mid. Dusty, Petracca and Danger are good examples.

Yep, I want Hollands to round out the midfield and we can pump games into Comben and Xerri. Pick up a kpf gem with 11 or 30. I have more confidence landing a decent kpp later in the draft than a gun mid.

He probably would as there's not a small forward like him in the top 20.

But I think Cox/Macrae/Bruhn territory.

Other thing to keep in mind is all the midfield rotations, its very handy to have a few effective up forward like Dusty/ Danger and co.
