Hanners and Hill so far have been a bust for us and Gringo does have a point, Jyes stats are not overwhelming although it's clear there is upside. A late first for his potential is the maximum he is worth which happens to be our first round pick. GWS should not get a cent more.

Busts?

Carlton aren’t trading a first for Saad, pick 27 if their lucky.

Essendon gave up a second for him but as per us they will carry on and drag it out with the Cripps and a first rubbish, glad it’s not us dealing with him.
Saad is a better player now than he was when he arrived at Essendon.

Essendon would have every right to demand a first rounder for him.

lol he’s a much better player now than he was leaving GC. 3 top 4 finished in the B&F 3 years running.

Definitely worth more than pick 27 in a weak draft. 15-20 IMO

With how compromised the first rd is this year, a pick between 10-15 would be what I was asking for knowing that will be the 16-20th pick by draft night.

Hanners and Hill are busts though. Should never have traded for them. See how badly they played in the first final in ten years.

Some people don't even football :) :)

Cant say i was sold on hammers tbh
But gee he has been every bit worth it.
If he can play 70% next year and we go deep in to sept its been money well splashed

I’m just hoping they think like you do, it will be entertaining to watch.

I don’t rate him anywhere near as highly and I’m pretty confident that carlton won’t pay that. Essendon have a lot of guys who are apparently worth first rounders and then some, they just can’t seem to play winning football.

On the other hand st Kilda are a bunch of third rate battlers according to some but here we are still playing week two of the finals.

Dodo always keeps it entertaining. Especially since this time he has every right to be pissed off at one of his players leaving after 3 years.

Carlton were willing to pay overs for Papley last year so they might bite at dodos demands.
Fox sport saying 5 years at $650K
Just WOW

If they match then they are chasing 2 first rounders.
Reality is they will end up with this years first and next years first (potentially 16-18 both years) or both of this years first which is virtually the same.

Or they take a first round compo of after Pick 6.
Considering they will also probably get Pick 7 from Carlton anyway I reckon I would just take the compo.

That would mean Essendon have picks 6, 7 and 8 this year before bids are matched for academy/Father-Son selections. A very strong draft hand even in a year when the Victorian lads have been unable to play much football.

I reckon Carlton will try and protect their first pick and deal with their second pick and a combination of other picks/players. It will be a messy trade based on Dodoro’s history.

Not bad for a hbf... I hope the saints edit every and all media that quotes that..
It just shows how well off we are - Paton is only just showing what he is capable of and Coffield could become anything.
Long is the ultimate backman , attacks the ball with no fear and is as skillful as anyone , then add Hunter Clark through the half backline and we must be the envy of all the clubs.

I’ve got an contact (assistant coach) at the AFL. He said Taranto wants out 100%.

Not sure how you would get the deal done but if GWS are willing to let him go who knows.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he did.

A) The wheels seem to be falling off at GWS, they managed to keep a bunch of them there by the lure of extended success, but the fact that they’ve just missed the 8 and are losing Williams, Corr, Hately, Cameron still unsigned I think spells trouble.
B) Rumours about him and Cogs not getting along.
C) Has family back in Melbourne and his mum misses him heaps (not exactly breaking news I know- but Taranto was raised by a single mum and his dad lives in the U.S so it’s a close relationship).

But if we’re also just about locked in on Caldwell I don’t see how we have the chips to get Taranto as well. Can’t see it happening. Unless we part with one of our own good players. Don’t think GWS will let him go without a big fight.

Paton all done to those that are worried.

Gosh I'd love for he and his manager to string essendon along for a while.

Remember in goodwill hunting when matt damon sends ben Affleck to fill in for him at an interview for a job he doesn't want?

I'd love for ben paton to make dodoro give him the cash out of his wallet.

Retainer!!

LOL just watched it again the other day

That 'rule' is now effectively optional since the cats were allowed to break it.
Basically you can break it if the AFL says you can (seriously).

As long as you can show you aren't throwing away your future on whatever trade you want to make with your future pick- you can break it

Well, that's all well and good if you're Geelong, Hawthorn, GWS, Gold Coast, Carlton, Essendon, Melbourne, Richmond, Collingwood, West Coast, and probably Adelaide...but I'll bet there are different rules for the rest of us. I'd assume the AFL would highlight their stance of "virtual" integrity of what "could" happen after the fact.

Gil and lethers are thick as thieves.
They would massage it through for us no dramas.
Now we have proven ourselves to be out of basketcase territory it would be an easy sell.

You are fapping hard over one game? Hills played about two solid games all year and Hanners is never out there but i guess some people set their standards just a bit lower then others. :)

Hell look at the coin they are on? Don't it not compute? Speaka enlglish??

Meh, some people.

Might be a nice piece of negotiating. Amp up Caldwell's value so far that they realise they may have troubles later, then casually slide in that we will take Taranto off their hands to help them out
;)
They have already stated if you dont want to be here then to leave.
