Seems like Treloar aint happening. James Gallagher just said it's "extremely unlikely" and they haven't and won't be approaching Treloar's managment about it

His 2020 wasn’t superb, but in 2018-2019 he offered a bit pretty much every few games. Best games were all when playing forward. Although he’s had career games upward of 20 hit outs, the bloke has polled Brownlow votes 3 times in 2018-19 As a forward. So he’s not a dud, and he’s definitely a forward... we just have to hope that the 3-5 games he plays are the 3-5 games a year where he can snag 7 marks, 12 touches and a goal or two.

For the role required I am happy with him and he is an improvement on Abbott.

But he is more a forward in my eyes. Which means Marshall or Ryder would carry the ruck.

By a poor mans Marshall comment - I’m referring to Mckernan's ability to compete around the contest and ability to move and take a grab.

His actual ruck craft is poor.

Yes McKernan not good enough to play No1 ruck well.

So if Marshall or Ryder are out the one remaining will need to play the No1 ruck role with McKernan mainly playing forward and resting ruck. McKernan is quite capable in this role, but clearly a step down (but way better than Abbott).

McKernan on out list means that we can choose games to rest Marshall or Ryder in. Particularly Ryder.

If Marshall or Ryder are both out, then we are in trouble.

Gags throwing cold water on everything

No to Treloar
No to Higgins
No to Hind moving
Maybe either way for Carlisle by weeks end
Probably couldn't get Caldwell and Crouch due to SC
Seb Ross not moving
Dunstan staying
Webster staying

Keeping Pick 17 for the draft

We can all go to sleep until 2021

I think from his responses, Lonie and Hind are the two who are most likely to move.

Webster and Dunstan seem likely to stay but he was strongest on Ross not going anywhere.

Gags certainly has a private approach to it. Doesn't give anything away at all. Seems like they're trying to put out a narrative that we don't have any cap space in the hope that Collingwood will take a big chunk of Treloar's salary. Twomey's question was a good one that the club had been going for Crouch and Caldwell. I'd be a bit surprised if we don't have a crack at one of Higgins or Treloar.

Who in their right mind, with a premiership window, would not want Higgins, Tarrant & Treloar. Constable has not been given a chance at the Cats & Ronke not Lonie, could be the next Butler.

Constable is not needed with Bytel. Very similar players.

If you get Higgins in you don’t need Ronke

Tarrant would be good if Snake goes.

No one is arguing with you over Treloar.

Though if no one else goes this trade period then it will not be good for our overall list management.

He was "less cold" on Higgins than Treloar, and so I suspect with Higgins a lot will depend on what Higgins believes his chances are on gaining regular senior games at the Tigers in 2021. The trade cost of Higgins would be readilly achiveable.

With Treloar he will only be possibly if we shed some considerable contract $$$$ and also that Pies accept a well unders trade from us. So that is two big mountains to climb.

I suspect we shopped Dunstan around but got little interest.

Yeah, that was the most clear cut indicator we've heard yet. Definitely not landing Treloar - and now that Richmond are saying Higgins will remain at the Tiges next year, I'd maybe rule that out too. Looks to be a pretty boring end to the trade I reckon, can only see us moving players on rather than bringing a few more in.
