I should ask since I know nothing of the walker twins.

Are they any good? What sort of player comparisons could you give?

I haven't seen as much as some but I'd say they're very athletic and high leaping. Player comparison would be a slightly footy smarter and more skilful version of Hughes.

If they go at the ball as hard as Hughes then that is pretty awesome

I had converted Twomeys September draft ranking into Non NGA ranking, eliminating NGA prospects

1.Logan McDonald
2.Elijah Hollands
3.Riley Thilthorpe
4.DGB
5. Bruhn
6 Oliver Henry
7.Will Phillips
8. Zac Reid
9.Finlay Mcrae
10.Archie Perkins
11.Heath Chapman
12. Jack Carroll
13.Nathan O'driscoll
14.Zane Trew
15 Brayden Cook
16. Nik Cox
Our pick wont slide as per this list unless compo picks affects? But some one said as we have pick 10 (not 11)we may stay at pick 10 itself, right?
At least 5 players from 10 onwards ,we are discussing a lot lately right?

The only player on that list from 10 onwards who I don't want is Chapman, and he seems terrific.

Looking at the FWD/Ruck types, I know a few on here are keen on Kalin Lane.

I use another metric to differentiate the Rucks.

Mark’s and Goals.

Shannon Neale has similar tap out numbers, but a lot more marks and more importantly knows where the big sticks are.

He would be on the list for us I suspect as a developing FWD/ Ruck type if with list number cuts that option exists any more!

There's not exactly loads of data to base your hypothesis on but yeah Neale is a heap more suited to ruck/fwd over Lane, who is more a pure ruck prospect. We might not have a pick to get Neale (excluding our first) even if we trade back into the draft with a future second though. Reckon he goes second round. With Mallard and Lane also playing in the u18 games, hopefully we see Neale play forward.

Think we need a fwd/ruck more than a ruck/fwd. Thilthorpe would be good :) I look at a lot of the ruck prospects and ask myself whether I could see both Darcy and them lining up in the same team down the track. Hopefully someone will reveal themselves in the various state u18 all star games without becoming too expensive for us. Probably some great Vic prospect who has grown 20cm and we just haven't seen them play this year yet.

I want jack Carroll .
Its been proven you can't win a premiership from wa if you don't have an ex shark pack boy in your team 😁

I really know nothing about Carroll but watching his highlights, the way he moved reminded me of Brad Dodd.

We've all been thinking a Brad Dodd type was the final piece of the puzzle, were just too scared to say it.

We already have Duman in the Steven role.

.

WAFL colts stats is where I got my stats from.

Anyone seen or heard much about Jai Serong? Write up on The West today but it is behind the paywall. Wonder if he’s as good as his brother... 🤔
Weird for him to be in an article based in WA, he is a lot taller than his brother and plays sort of key position. He is an outside chance in next years draft at this stage.

The forward/ruck position is an interesting one. I know JLo said it's an area we're looking to improve our depth in, but there really are few AFL quality ones across the league. Only the St Kilda pairing of Ryder and Marshall had better hitout/goal averages than Rory Lobb this year, and Lobb had a pretty average season. The rest are guys who just happen to be tall enough to ruck, but are uncompetitive like Taberner.

The problem for me is when you look specifically for this role, you end up with someone who isn't good enough in either position.

As for Neale v Lane, I like both and would be happy with either. I suspect Neale gets picked first, and it'll probably be because of his potential up forward - even though I think he's a ruck first and foremost. But I like Lane more, because I think he'll be the better long term ruck. And I'm picking for their primary position, anything extra is a bonus.

The restrictions on football this year certainly won't have helped as it's usually in their draft year when talls really develop into AFL prospects. But I don't think it's a great draft for tall forwards with ruck potential. Outside of Thilthorpe, I struggle to really think of any. In fact outside of the top 10, the only tall forwards I'd really consider are Kaine Baldwin and Ollie Lord. I'd be more inclined to pick my favourite available ruck prospect, and leave a rookie spot open for someone like Henry Smith or Ned Carey.

Tilthorpe I really like and fits the description very well.

As a junior I think you look for a Ruck, who can mark, and take contested marks in particular.

Jackson last year could do that. His U18 stats were significantly better than Neale or Lane. In all areas.

Maybe other than Tilthorpe this year it’s just a empty basket and look to next year.

Reduced list sizes don’t lead to much development opportunities so it might be left to the WAFL SANFL etc to develop those guys and wait til they develop more and grab ones that do in a mid season draft scenario.. certainly less risk that way.

Yes there might be less risk in them working out or not but that needs to be balanced against the risk of missing out on the one you want. List management decisions like this are tough as buggery.

Is there WAFL action on this weekend featuring any up & comers? Being how there is no ALF on.
Souths v West Perth is the WAFL League game, small chance of Heath Chapman possibly playing. other than that i don't think there's any other 18 year olds getting a run for them
